Retro Sympathy Card

Hello Stampers!  Today I have another retro card for you. I am finding so many unfinished cards! 🙂

This is another short and sweet post. I used the same flip card as the Confirmation card on May 15. This shows how card bases can be changed. Love those little butterflies.

The sentiment comes from the lovely stamp set Thoughts and Prayers (which is being carried over into the new catalog!).

In my June classes we will be making Sympathy and Get Well Cards. They won’t be retro and I’ll be showing you those mid June.

So, I used retired DSP and the card die but the butterfly punch and die as well as the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set are all current.

Be sure to check in on June 2 for a really cool card. Hint: it’s a peek-a-boo card.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Confirmation Card 2

Hello stampers! As I mentioned in my post on May 15, I needed to make some Confirmation Cards so I have one more to share with you. This one was very popular.

This card is more appropriate for Confirmation since the colors are red and white. On this card I left the cross as is and put the dove on the envelope. I used some flowered vellum as an overlay on the Real Red card base.

Again I used the stamp set All God’s Grace (retiring soon).

This is the inside and I just used the dove from the stamp set Strength and Prayers (also retiring soon). I left it this way so that a personal note could be added. This was a popular card since it works for both boys and girls.

One more view of the card.

Keep in mind that no matter what sentiment I use you can take the sketch (design) and make it your own. Change the cross to a heart or flower, etc.

My next post will be another Retro card. See you soon, until then…Happy Stamping!

NEW Daisy Punch – Customer Thank You Cards

Hello stampers! Today I have a quick post to show you some little Thank You cards I enclosed in customer orders. I used some retired DSP (again…trying to use up retired supplies) and the NEW Daisy Punch. Very quick but cute.

I have a bunch of the Craft Paper so I thought it would be a good background for the Botanicals DSP. I love that Daisy Punch. At the time I was making these I still hadn’t received the coordinating stamp set. Next batch! I also used the retired Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack from the 2013-2014 catalog for the centers.

A little closer look. I’ve decided rather than actually writing on my Thank You notes I write my message on a Post-It and don’t put my info. on the back of the card. This way, the recipient has the opportunity to use the card again.  If you want envelopes you’ll have to get out your Envelope Punch Board and make them. (Thank Goodness that it is not retiring!)

I hope those of you who are new to Stampin’ Up! products are not upset that I am using retired products. If there is something you would love to have…just email or call me and Ill try to get it for you. I’m part of a very large group and we have a special FB page just for buying, selling and finding retired products. I’ve had very good luck finding items for customers. Then, of course, there are so many of you who may have the same retired products because you’ve been purchasing Stampin’ Up! for a long time. With the release of the new catalog I’ll try to stick to current products BUT I have made cards BEFORE May 31st and I’m posting after that date. Transition time is always a little hard.

Until my next blog…Happy Stamping!

Retro Mosaic Madness

Hello dear stampers! Today I’m going back in time with a retro card I made up for a friend’s birthday. I used the retired Mosaic grouping of products – Mosaic Madness Stamp Set, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder and Mosaic Punch. I almost sold this group but changed my mind and I’m so happy I kept it.

There are a lot of details in this card but that’s what makes it so unique. I also used the retired Scallop Trim Border Punch (another one I’ll be keeping for a long, long time).

So…do you see the NEW Happy Birthday Thinlit? Can you tell I’m crazy about this die! This card has a lot of old and a bit of new.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Mosaic Madness (R)

Ink – Bermuda Bay

Paper – Whisper White, Bermuda Bay

Accessories – Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder (R), Mosaic Punch (R), Scallop Trim Border Punch (R), Happy Birthday Thinlit, Pearl Basic Jewels, White Satin Ribbon

Now I need to explore this same idea with the Eastern Palace Suite. Did you order yours yet?

Until my next blog…Happy Stamping!

Confirmation Card 1

Hello stampers! It seems spring/summer is such a busy time for card making. I recently participated in our church craft fair and was asked to make Confirmation cards so here is one I made…and it sold!

It’s really not Confirmation color but it turned out really cute and girl’s would like it. I used one of our retired dies, Label Card Thinlit, basically since I had it in my unfinished card stock. 🙂  I told you this was my year for using my “old” stuff.

I did use the stamp set, All God’s Grace, which unfortunately is retiring on May 31. It’s a great set so it will be a keeper.

Short and sweet sentiment. I did pop up the cross and added the dove in the center. I used our White Watercolor Pencil to shade in the dove.

This is also retired DSP but I can’t even remember which pack. You see, I prep a bunch of card kits for my classes (never really knowing how many will sign up) and when I have leftovers I put them in a shoe box to make up later. Ha, ha – great idea but guess what happens…the shoe box just keeps filling up. That is why I’m trying to go through all those shoe boxes and make up the kits. You don’t have this problem, do you?  🙂

Take care, stay healthy and Happy Stamping!

Tulip Greetings

Hello my dear stampers! Today’s card is a bit different and it’s actually made with the Bird Builder Punch which is retired. 😦 Don’t forget…if you want a retired item, contact me…maybe, just maybe I can find someone selling it.

To make the tulips I used the wing of the Bird Builder Punch. I cut long strips of Cucumber Crush to make the stems. The actual card base, some of the tulips and the ribbon are all in Daffodil Delight.

This sentiment is a sneak peek at a new die for 2017-2018. I LOVE it!!!

You may notice a little sparkle to the tulips…I brushed the accents with Clear Wink of Stella. It almost makes the tulips look like they have a bit of dew on them.

Here’s a close up of that awesome new die! Can you imagine how stunning it would be if you built it up with several layers using another new product…Multi purpose Adhesive Sheets.

We made this card in a class and it was very well received. In fact, one of the gals wanted the Bird Builder Punch to make more of this style card and I found one for her at a very reasonable price.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Paper – Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Cucumber Crush

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers (Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pink Pirouette), Bird Builder Punch, 1/2″ Seam Binding in Daffodil Delight, Clear Wink of Stella

I hope you like this card and will try one for yourself. Don’t forget…send me a photo of your creations via email and you just might be my guest stamper!

Take care and until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Timeless Love

Hello Stampers. Hope this greeting finds you all in good health. This seems to be the season for anniversaries so today I have a very pretty anniversary card for you. (My husband and I are celebrating our 48th tomorrow May 9.)

I’m very happy with the way this card turned out. The doily adds the wedding like touch therefore this card could be used as a wedding card too. Actually…for almost any occasion if you just change the sentiment. I like to use color on color for backgrounds and the word “congratulations” worked out great. The circle is popped up. The vellum is not plain…it has a little flower pattern to it (retired).

This is a great sentiment from the Timeless Love Stamp Set. This whole card was done using only that set. Unfortunately it will be retiring on June 1. (If you like it, get it now!)

That little sprig of flowers colored with markers really adds to the inside as well as the envelope.

The pearls look as though they are holding the banner in place and also add a little bling.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Timeless Love

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Sky

Paper  – Soft Sky, Whisper White

Accessories – Doily, Layering Circles Framelits, Vellum, Pearls, Stampin’ Write Markers (Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Soft Sky)

This is a lovely stamp set and it makes very pretty cards. Hope you enjoyed seeing my creation.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Sweet Swirls

Hello Stampers. Today I’m working with the stamp set Swirly Bird. I’m soooo happy that it will be staying with us for another year since I really haven’t explored all the things I can do with that set yet. I love the coordinating thinlits, Swirly Scribbles too.

I decided to make today’s design for my Mother’s Day card for my mom (who just turned 94 on May 4th). I always make very feminine and lacy ones for her so this is a change.

I think she will like this card (she likes all my cards anyway). I really like Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry together!

I just had to use these sentiments from the retired set called Wonderful Mother. I will never part with that set.

Instead of using rhinestones or pearls I tried the White Perfect Accents. They have not been retired so I’ll have more time to play with them.

Sorry about the green background. It looked good until I posted these photos and now I’m not too crazy about it. I’m always experimenting with the photo process.

Hope you are all happy and healthy. It seems there are some cold and stomach bugs around again. Take care of yourselves and …

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek of New Products in Cards made at On Stage

Hello Stampers. I’m a little late posting the three cards we made at On Stage but I have so many cards to share they got put at the end of the line. Well, in all three of these cards you will see new products which will be available on June 1 for ordering. Very exciting!

If you have a good eye you will see items not seen before. Check out the daisy stamp and punch and look at that sparkly center! Of course you see new DSP and Ribbon. Very simple card but makes a statement.

To make this card we actually used some new cards from Memories and More. Check out the cute flower!

Now this one is too stinkin’ cute. We used new Thinlits to cut out the fox and his banner which actually were on new DSP! Pretty cool, huh!

There are so many new and unique products coming up on June 1st. I’ll be ordering my new Annual Catalogs on May 2nd and as soon as I receive them I can put them in your hands.

Stay tuned since I have a stack of cards to share. I’ve been very busy creating new cards. I may pop in another Wednesday surprise post. 🙂

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!
