Guest Stamper – Jacki

Hello Stampers!

Today’s post features a fellow card maker, Jacki. She has totally organized all her stamping items and is now making cards like crazy. Here’s one we’d like to share with you.

Jacki has developed a new love for Vellum and has added the Vellum leaves. Love the little birds!

Here’s her inside sentiment. Really neat the way she tucked it in among her plant leaves.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Forever Fern, Birds & Branches, Free As A Bird

Ink – Garden Green

Paper – Forever Greenery DSP, Vellum, Craft Paper, Whisper White

One last look at this adorable card!

Lucky the friend who gets this card from Jacki!

Now…doesn’t that inspire you to send me some nice photos (via my email) of your recent creation so that you too can be featured as a Guest Stamper?

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!   Donna

Tri-Fold Friendship Card

Hello Stampers! I hope all of you are in good health. We are all missing our card classes but we can hope that some day soon we’ll all be able to gather to make cards. In the meantime…get creative! Another demo says “make a card, send a card” and I think that’s a great idea.

I had hoped to make a new sneak peek card with products from the new Annual Catalog but my order still hasn’t arrived. I’ll have one for sure next week!

Several local stampers have already picked up the new catalog from my house (I leave it in a bag outside). It is fun to go through and make your Wish List (included in each catalog).

My card today was inspired by my upline, Peggy Noe. Always remember in Stampin’ Up! we all believe in Copy and Share Everything (CASE) as long as you give credit to your inspiration or who you totally copied from. 🙂

I found this card format is great to use up DSP scraps. I used Lily Impressions DSP for this card.

This is the card fully opened with the sentiment on the back panel.

Here’s a close up of sentiment and Belly Band.

Directions to make this card:

Base – 5 1/2″ x 12″   Score at 4 1/4″; 7 1/4″; 10 1/4″

Belly Band – 1″ x 12″

DSP – 1st panel – 4″ x 5 1/4″; Panels 2 & 3 – 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″; Panels 4 & 5 – 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Last panel sentiment piece (placed close to fold) 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Waterfront Friend Card

Hello Stampers! Have you enjoyed browsing through the new Holiday Catalog? I’ve put in 3 orders because I keep finding items I must have. 🙂 You will find the catalog in my last post and also at the side bar.

I fell in love with the Waterfront stamp set and just had to make a card for one of my classes. So…here it is!

The sky is actually a very light Balmy Blue using some sponging. It’s so easy to get this watercolor effect with these stamps.

You can see the sky a bit better in this shot.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Waterfront

Ink – Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Black

If you have this stamp set but haven’t used it…do try it. It’s a great set.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this card as much as I enjoyed creating it! Be adventurous…there are so many ways to use this great set.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!     Donna 🙂

Butterfly Joy Fold

Hello Stampers!

Today I will show you my version of a Joy Fold Card.

You may have already made a Joy Fold Card because they can be found all over on Pinterest.  I’ll give you my measurements and directions but you can find many videos just in case you want to see the variety.

I have a LOT of photos for this one. 🙂

This looks like a regular size card but part of the front cover is cut off and then a smaller card opening in the opposite direction with a small cut out to hold it closed. That’s basically what it is!

Notice the touch of Organdy Highland Heather Ribbon on the side. (Unfortunately the Organdy Ribbon Pack from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure is out of stock. 😦 )

This shows both cards opened up to see the inside sentiment.

Here’s a close up of the darling little butterfly that holds the front piece closed.

Here are my directions:

Base Card – 8 1/2 x 4 1/4, score at 5 1/2; 3 x 8, score at 4

DSP – 2 3/4 x 4

Inside Whisper White – (2) 2 3/4 x 3 3/4; 5 1/4 x 4

After scoring I lined up the smaller card folding in the opposite direction in the center of the larger section of the base card – just so I knew how it should go…this is important to remember.

I used the bubbles (both sizes) from Beauty Abounds to stamp onto the 5 1/4 x 4 Whisper White to make my own DSP.

The little butterfly was stamped using Beauty Abounds and then cutting it out with Butterfly Beauty Thinlits. I put a tiny piece of Stampin’ Dimensionals on the left side of the butterfly so that the flap would still tuck under.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Beauty Abounds

Ink – Highland Heather, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Highland Heather, Whisper White, Botanical Butterfly DSP (from Sale-A-Bration)

Accessories – Butterfly Beauty Thinlits, Organdy Ribbon Highland Heather (SAB), Stampin’ Up! Markers

I really hope you try this fold and maybe even this design or your version of it.

Don’t be shy…send me photos of your creations and I’ll post them on my blog and you can be my Guest Stamper!

Take care of yourself, stay healthy and Happy Stamping!     Donna

Secret Message Card

Hello Stampers! Today I have a really unique card for you. It’s very easy to make but it really has a “wow” feature! I got the idea from fellow stamper Dawn Griffith.

This looks like a normal card with the gate opening but once you open it there are surprises.

Under the flap there are messages.

Now you can see little messages on both sides of the inside of the card.

Now make a tent out of the inside messages and pull the sections apart…

…and you will find more “hidden” messages!

To help you understand this card and get full and easy directions…I’m going to send you to Dawn Griffiths video.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Abstract Impressions, Special Celebrations, Bella and Friends, Itty Bitty Greetings, Dragon Dreams

Ink – Mango Melody, So Saffron, Shaded Spruce, Soft Sea Foam, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Whisper White, Old Olive

Be sure to try this card out…it’s soooo cute!

Until next week…Happy Stamping!     Donna

Cut Out To Be Friends

Hello Stampers!  Today I have a really cute card for you. I used the great stamp set Crafting Forever. Anyone who crafts or knows people who craft love this set.

This card can be used for any crafter who uses scissors! That would be ALL I think. I stamped the scissors randomly on the front of the card then colored the handles in Pacific Point, added the little border (used some retired DSP), stamped the white circle and punched both out. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to “pop” the circles. I stamped another pair of scissors and did some fussy cutting to cut it out then adhered it to the circles.

Here’s one where I didn’t color the scissor handles and moved the circles to the left. Be creative and change up my idea.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Crafting Forever

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Pacific Point

Paper – Whisper White, Pacific Point

Accessories – DSP (R), 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, Pacific Point Stampin’ Marker

Hope you enjoyed seeing this cute crafty card!

Until next week…Happy Stamping!     Donna

Tri-Fold Card

Hi Stampers!  Today I have a very versatile card for you. Yes, mine is a Valentine card…better late than never! I should have posted this on Wednesday but life got in the way. 🙂

In class some of the participants made this lovely card into a birthday card…you can put any sentiment you want on it.

Open the first page and find this lovely flourish.

And finally the inside where you can put your sentiment. I left this particular one blank until I need it and then decide what I want inside.

This card may look difficult but really isn’t.

Here are the measurements for this card:

Powder Pink – 6 3/8″ x 5 1/2″, score at 2 1/8″

Whisper White – 8″ x  5 1/4″, score at 4″; (2) 2 1/2″ x 4″

Sahara Sand – (2) 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″

DSP – 2″ x 5 3/8″ and 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Use the photos to lay out your pieces then stamp and adhere.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Bloomin’ Love, Flourishing Phrases

Ink – Crumb Cake, Powder Pink

Paper – Powder Pink, Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers (Pear Pizzazz, Powder Pink)

This card is really lovely; I hope you will try making one.

Please try to stay healthy! The flu bug has hit my daughter and her family very hard…all 5 of them are down with the flu (mom, dad, 3 children). Unfortunately one of the girls also has pneumonia! This flu is nothing to fool around with so take care of yourselves.

Happy Stamping!      Donna
