Night in Bethlehem

Hello Stampers! I’m really into making Christmas cards right now since I have a craft fair coming up in October. This is card number 1 for this month’s card classes. When I saw this bundle (Night in Bethlehem Stamp Set and Bethlehem Edgelits) I knew I had to have it.

I was inspired by several different cards I’ve seen. The dies in this set are awesome.

This card was well received by my first class and I’m pretty sure that tomorrow’s class will like it as well.

The card base is Sahara Sand cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″

The Whisper White measures 4″ x 4 1/4″  (I also did the same on the inside with a verse.)

The black strips on top and bottom are just strips of black cut at 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Night in Bethlehem

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Sahara Sand, Black, Whisper White, Gold Foil

Accessories – Bethlehem Edgelits

Try this card…it really is very nice and I like that it’s not using the usual Christmas colors.

Until next time…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Pop Up Book Birthday Card

Hello Stampers! Today I have a really cool card for you. I was inspired by Dawn Griffith (again). I love cards that are interactive or pop in some way. Dawn must be on the same page and she inspires me so much.

Don’t look at this card and say ” I can’t do that, it looks so difficult.” It may look difficult but it’s really easy! We did this card at my last month’s class and everyone really liked it.

OK, nothing difficult about some dry embossing and die cuts. Now watch…

There’s the WOW! Just the way you cut, score and fold makes this greeting pop out like a book. I’ll first list the products then get into the directions.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Butterfly Basics, Special Celebrations

Ink – Night of Navy

Paper – Night of Navy, So Saffron, Whisper White

Accessories – Sparkle Embossing Folder, Stitched Framelits

Now for the measurements:

Base – (Night of Navy) 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″

Front (Night of Navy)  3″ x 3″

Inside (Night of Navy) 2 1/4″ x 2 5/8″….cut 2

Front ( So Saffron) 4″ x 5 1/4″

Inside (So Saffron) 5″ x 8″

Front (Whisper White) 3″ x 3″  Stamp and then die cut with Stitched Square (will be smaller)

Inside (Whisper White) 2″ x 2 1/2″ …cut 2

Directions

  1. Take the inside So Saffron piece that is 5″ x 8″; on the Stampin’ Trimmer on the 5″ side – line up at 1″ then cut between 1″ and 7″, turn to other side and do the same.
  2. Same piece – on the 8″ side  SCORE between the cut lines at 1″ and 1 1/2″
  3. Same piece – now score the top and bottom (above and below the cut lines) at 21/2″
  4. Same piece – score all the way top to bottom at 4″
  5. Now turn and repeat steps 2 and 3
  6. Folding – top and bottom strips fold valley, mountain, valley;  center folds valley, mountain, valley in center, mountain, valley
  7. Adhere the inside center piece 1/4″ inside the edge of the Night of Navy card base…DO NOT TRY TO PUT THE CENTER FOLD INTO THE CENTER FOLD OF THE CARD BASE.
  8. Tip:  Put adhesive on only one side and attach, now fold the center panel up, put adhesive on that center piece and then close the card. This will insure that the card will fold properly with no buckling.

You may have noticed that I also embossed the flap on the envelope. Very easy…just slide the flap inside the embossing folder and fold the envelope closed behind the embossing folder.

This fold can be used for any type card. It really gives a WOW to the card and the recipient will love it.

Please try to make this card and IF I have forgotten anything (hope not) PLEASE contact me ASAP so that I can make a revision.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Medallion Birthday

Hello my dear Stampers!  Once again I must ask you to forgive me for missing a couple posts. I am having the WORST luck with my computer.  The keyboard had quit functioning once again. My husband was in the process of following the Costco Concierge on how to fix it and while it was doing it’s thing the manager he was speaking to had to leave since they were being evacuated in Ft. Meyers, FL. Until they return my computer is now totally dead. I decided I’d best try using my notebook so here goes.

Today’s card is simple and elegant and can be used for either male or female. I’m really loving Washi Tape and this card makes it happen.

See what I mean! I’m still using the retired Gold Glitter Washi Tape from last year (I bought a ton of it since I loved it so much!) I used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits – two together to get this design and the Washi Tape! That’s all! How easy is that! I decorated the envelope with one of the designs in the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set.

Just a simple Happy Birthday from the stamp set Rose Wonder and a bit more Washi and there you have it!

We did this card in my August class and the participants liked this design because it is so versatile.

If this works then I’ll be ready for my Friday post! Until then…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Powder Pink Birthday

Hello Stampers! This month the theme for my classes was Birthday cards. Many of the participants asked for more masculine ones or cards that would be suitable for anyone. I had to have just one fluff card and here it is. 🙂

I absolutely LOVE this Happy Birthday die – the font, the size – this die has it all. I used the new In Color Powder Pink and it was a big hit.

I used the circle I cut out from the front for the sentiment on the inside. I used silver embossing powder. I love the Stitched Framelits, they give all the shapes that extra touch. I added some Fresh Fig flowers for contrast. I used the Washi Tape from Paper Pumpkin on the corner of the envelope.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Ink – Versamark

Paper – Whisper White, Powder Pink, Silver Foil, Fresh Fig, Fresh Florals DSP
