TTT 007 & Revisit Lemon Lime Twist Corner Fold

Hello Stampers! Today I have my version of the Tic Tac Toe Challenge 007 AND a second look at the Lemon Lime Twist Corner Fold Card.

I chose Die Cut, Floral, Yellow for my row.

Still experimenting with my camera and I had it too high on Pixels so these photos are GIANT! I’m determined to get this right.

This card was very labor intensive since I used So Saffron for the frame of the rose and then cut again in Daffodil Delight to fill in the flower.

This view shows the Dazzling Details I used on the frame of the rose.

Now I’d like to show you what we did in class with the Lemon Lime Twist Corner Fold Card.

This was the original.

Changed the butterfly from yellow outline to black and it made a world of difference. Thanks to one of my class attendees who came up with this version.

Changed the sentiment and added an inside sentiment.

I love when class attendees come up with new creations on the basic card we are making. It is great to share different ideas!

I’ll have another “different” card for you on Friday…until then…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Peaceful Night

Hello Stampers!

As promised I have a Christmas card today using the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set and Card Front Builder Thinlits Bundle (available to you August 1st). The more I play around with this bundle the more I like it. The big bold sentiments are great for those who make a lot of Christmas cards because they almost fill the front of the card. I have a church craft fair coming up the last Sunday in October and I plan to make sets of Christmas cards to sell so I’ll be working on cards that can be mass produced!

For lack of a better name I call this my Triple Fold Out card. I know I got the inspiration from another but can’t remember where I saw this.

This gives you an idea of the three fold outs. See that great sentiment for the inside? It’s hard to tell but it is stamped on a rectangular Stitches Shape. I scalloped the front panel at the top using Seasonal Layers Framelits.

I used the Card Front Builder Thinlits to design the night sky, the trees and the deer. This set is FANTASTIC!  I just hand cut Whisper White Cardstock to form the snow drifts so the trees had perspective. I brushed a bit of Craft Stampin’ Ink in Whisper White on the trees for snow.

This is an easy fold and will make your cards really stand out. The base card measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″.  The Whisper White front panel measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ but I cut some off with the scallop die. I used scraps of Whisper White to hand cut the snow drifts. Then you decorate as you like.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Carols of Christmas

Ink – Tranquil Tide, Craft Stampin’ Ink Whisper White, Chocolate Chip (for deer on the envelope)

Paper – Tranquil Tide, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip

Accessories – Card Front Builder Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Seasonal Layers Framelits

I’ll have some more Christmas Cards using this wonderful bundle for you soon. Since we always send a letter in our cards I’m working on a way to enclose it without it just being in the card. Stay tuned!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Lemon Lime Twist Corner Fold Card

Hello Stampers!

Today I’m featuring three things. First this card is for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #6 using the row with Shadow – Layers – Square. Then I’ve brought back a fold I used in the past (but I love it) – the Corner Fold.  Lastly I’m using one of our NEW In Color cardstock colors – Lemon Lime Twist.

I’m really getting to like this Lemon Lime Twist more each time I use it. In person the Daffodil Delight butterfly looks so much better. Also, I apologize again for the bit of blur in the photo. I’m still working on the correct settings. This camera just isn’t as easy as I thought it would be.

Measurements for the Corner Fold:  Card base – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/2″; Black Cardstock – 2 3/4″ square, 1 1/4″ x 4″ strip, 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece for inside; Whisper White – 2 1/2″ square, 1 ” x 3 3/4″ strip, 3 3/4″ x 5″ for inside.

To make the Corner Fold:  Place the card at the 3″ mark on your Stampin’ Trimmer, place the blade at 2 1/2″ and cut from 2 1/2″ to 4 7/8″, turn your card one quarter turn clockwise and place the blade at 3″ and cut from 3″ to 5/8″.  Fold the corner down carefully making sure the corner is positioned evenly.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Colorful Seasons, Daisy Delight

Ink – Daffodil Delight, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Lemon Lime Twist, Black, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight

Accessories – Bold Butterfly Framelits, Butterflies Thinlits, Candy Dots (R)

I liked this card so much I decided to use it in my July classes. So, if you are attending class on either July 19th or 22nd you will be making this card!

I promise my next post will be using the Early Release Carols of Christmas bundle. The Thinlits in that bundle are awesome!  Until then…

Happy Stamping!

Stepped Up Card

Hello Stampers. Today I have a card that I showed you a while back but I’ve stepped it up a bit. I sometimes mention how you can enhance my cards so I thought I’d practice what I preach. 🙂

This is the original card.

Nice but kind of blah.

Now here’s the same card after I stepped it up.

I added our new Garden Trellis Embossing Folder, and the Scallop Trim Border Punch (R) with some Marina Mist Striped Organdy Ribbon (R). I also changed the Get Well sentiment from Crumb Cake to Marina Mist and added the stamp to the envelope.

I’m very pleased with the end result.

There are many times when I create a card and I like it simple but then after I look at it for a while I’m not really satisfied. I remake many of them to “step” them up after my classes. I also get many ideas from my class participants. They have wonderful ideas! The more ideas the better the card!

Speaking of classes…I invite anyone in the San Diego area to attend. I welcome fellow demos and anyone interested in having some fun and making six great cards. My schedule of classes for the remainder of the year can be found here on my blog. For more details, please contact me.

I also send out a weekly newsletter describing all the current promotions Stampin’ Up! is offering as well as class information and my news. If you are interested in receiving my newsletter – Crafty Cardmaker Weekly Newsletter – then please contact me so that you can be added to my mailing list.

Take care and try to keep cool. Happy Stamping!    Donna

Daisy Day

Hello Stampers.  I’ve decided to do another card for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge (#tttc005).   This time I’m doing Summer, Die-cut, Pattern Paper.

I’m crazy about the Daisy Punch and Delightful Daisy DSP so I decided to incorporate those along with Flourish Thinlits.

This card is definitely summery…daisies!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Butterfly Basics (for the texture on the daisy center)

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry

Paper – Whisper White, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Delightful Daisy DSP

Accessories – Garden Trellis Embossing Folder, Daisy Punch, Flourish Thinlits, 1/2″ Circle Punch (R), Dauber, Mini Dimensionals

Here’s another look at this cheery little card.

Did you notice that the DSP looks faded?  Don’t worry…it’s supposed to be that way. The whole pack of Delightful Daisy DSP is like that and it was meant to be that way. I think it gives more interest.

I absolutely love this bundle but I must warn you…the Daisy Punch is out of stock but never fear… Stampin’ Up! will send you yours (if you order one) as soon as they are back in stock.  *They should be back in stock by July 31st.

I’m also loving the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder… it is just so unique and works well with everything.

Note…if my photos are not the best please excuse me for a bit. My old camera just totally died on our cruise so I had to buy what they had on the ship. Don’t get me wrong…I love this new little camera but I’m still getting acquainted with the settings, etc.

Hope you are enjoying your summer. Stay cool and Happy Stamping!    Donna

Berry Burst Pocket Card

Hello Stampers.

I have a card with our new In Color and DSP.  I’m also playing the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  For the row I chose in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge I needed to use Pearls, Die Cuts and Butterflies.

Here is this week’s Challenge…give it a try it’s so much fun because you have so much freedom to create.

If you’d like to play…just go to tictactoechallenge.com

You know how I like to make different folds, etc. well…here’s a cute little pocket card that is very easy to make.

I am loving this Fresh Florals DSP! The Flourish Thinlits have so much to offer.  Here I used the border and the larger flower. That cute little cluster of butterflies was from the Timeless Tags Thinlits (now retired). That one is a keeper for me.

Notice how I used the Fresh Florals DSP to match on the envelope flap. Adding a stamp or covering the flap of the envelope really makes your card special from the minute the recipient gets it.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Paper – Berry Burst, Whisper White, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Flourish Thinlits, Timeless Tags Thinlits (R), Jewels Basic Pearls, Tear and Tape, Corner Round Punch (R)

See, I told you it was easy and you don’t need many items to make it.

There are no special directions…I just made a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card,  folded down the top right corner (you could do a smaller fold if you’d like more area below to decorate), cut the DSP to match the folded portion and decorated. I did make the inside card 4″ x 5 1/4″ due to the Tear and Tape used to make the pocket. I preferred the rounded corners on the insert…looks softer.

This is a card you MUST try. Decorate as you like and have fun.

In the meantime…Happy Stamping!   Donna

Friend Flip Fold Card

Hi Stampers.

Since today is the Fourth of July I’d like to wish you all a Happy Fourth! Shock…I do not have a red, white and blue card for you. 🙂 Instead, I have a little different twist on a greeting card. Got the inspiration from Dawn Griffith. She has so many great ideas so “why invent the wheel”!

Instead of the normal card this one has a single piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then you build from there.

I used the new In Color – Fresh Fig and the Fresh Florals DSP. Those new In Colors are great.

The Blushing Bride is adhered to the Fresh Fig and then there is a small fold in the DSP which adheres over the Blushing Bride. Whisper White is then centered with the back of the DSP onto the Blushing Bride. It’s quite different and I do like unique folds and cards.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Bunch of Blossoms

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Fresh Fig, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Laying Circles Framelits, White Satin Ribbon (R), 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 2″ Circle Punch

This is such a fun card to make and I can see it made with all the new In Colors. It would make a great gift set of Thank You cards in a cute little box!  Hmm…just might do that!

Here are the measurements I used:

Fresh Fig – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″;  Blushing Bride – 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″;  Whisper White – 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″;  DSP – 3 1/4″ x 6″, score on the 3 1/4″ side at

5 9/16″.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White and then punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. Punch out a 1 3/4″ circle from Fresh Fig, and a 2″ circle from Silver Glimmer. Glue them together. (Might want to use your Fast Fuse especially on the Glimmer paper.)     Using the 2 1/8″ Circle Framelit cut out a circle in the DSP, then use that die and the 2 1/2″ Scallop die together to make the frame. Glue it together and add the ribbon and you’ve got an awesome card.

Give this card a try and send me a photo…I’ll highlight you as my guest stamper!
