Get Well Thoughts Card

Hello Stampers! Today I have a Get Well Card for you. I send a lot of these during cold and flu season. They are great to have on hand because you never know when someone needs a cheery note to feel better.

I was inspired by Connie Stewart to make this card. It’s amazing how a little stamped texture and strips of a different color can spark up an otherwise flat looking card. For the background texture I used color on color (Marina Mist Ink on Marina Mist Cardstock).

The card base is Marina Mist with a bit of So Saffron and Very Vanilla for the sentiment. The front panel is actually folded over and the So Saffron is tucked under the folded flap. Then another piece of So Saffron is added along the edge.

Card Measurements:

Marina Mist – Base, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 1″ and 4 1/4″; scraps to punch out the flowers

So Saffron – 2″ x 5 1/2″ cut into two 1″ pieces

Very Vanilla – 2 1/2″ x 4″

Maybe you are wondering where I got the yellow rhinestones…I colored the clear rhinestones with a yellow Sharpie. I have a set of Sharpie colors to change up my rhinestones.

Those adorable little flowers are made from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. It is retired but if you’ve been using Stampin’ Up! products for a few years there’s a good chance you have this punch. If not, and you’d like the set…call or email me and I’ll see if I can still get you the set. Those Itty Bitty sets are so handy and I’ll never get rid of mine.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Touches of Texture, Thoughts and Prayers

Ink – Crumb Cake, Marina Mist

Paper – Marina Mist, So Saffron, Very Vanilla

Accessories – Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write Marker, Yellow Sharpie, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (R)

This card should cheer up someone who isn’t feeling well, don’t you think?

Stay healthy and Happy Stamping!

Touches of Texture Sympathy Card

Hello my dear Stampers! Hope you are having a wonderful day. Every day I can make cards is a great day for me.

Do you find stamping and creating as peaceful and relaxing as I do? If so, be sure to make time in your hectic schedule to create! When I first started as a Stampin’ Up! demo I spent at least one afternoon a week in my craft room. Now, after almost five years as a demo…I spend some time every day in that room. My husband now expects me to be in “my space” every evening after dinner and part of each afternoon.

With the new catalog making it’s debut there are soooo many new ideas that I MUST try. But first…I have another CASE from Mary Fish. What can I say…when I see it and I love it I have to make it.

Once again a nice clean design. I used Whisper White for the base card and Pink Pirouette for color. I repeated the image on the envelope. I really like to decorate my envelopes and sometimes use a colorful insert on the flap.

I used the Scoring Tool to make the “lines” on each side of the base. That is Old Olive ribbon from the past. It’s too pretty not to use.

Card Measurements:

Whisper White – Base, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″; 2 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ for image piece; Inside – 3 3/4″ x 5″

Pink Pirouette – 3″ x 5″; Inside – 4″ x 5 1/4″

I carried the lovely little flower onto the inside with the touching sentiment.

The front panel of Whisper White and Pink Pirouette was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Don’t you agree this is a lovely clean card that says so much?

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Touches of Texture, Flourishing Phrases

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Whisper White, Pink Pirouette

Accessories – Scoring Tool, Pink Pirouette & Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers, Old Olive Ribbon

I know if I received this card I would feel that the sender really cares and knowing it was made with love makes it all the more special.

Remember…an email or text just isn’t the same as a hand stamped card. If I can be of assistance in helping you make a card like this just email or call me. I’d love to help you create!

Happy Stamping!

Simple Sympathy Card

Hello Stampers! As much as we hate to think about making Sympathy cards – they are a necessity. I have two Sympathy cards to share with you. I’ll show you a quick but oh, so tasteful card today and another one in my next post. I was inspired by Alene Humphrey for this card. I always like to give credit where due.

This is done with a Whisper White base card, another Whisper White popped up piece, a Black layer, and a Whisper White piece that has been dry embossed with the Floral Affection Embossing Folder.

The little butterflies were punched out of Silver Glitter Paper using the Bitty Butterfly Punch and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals . The sentiment came from the stamp set Better Together.

The inside sentiment was from the same stamp set, Better Together, and that beautiful butterfly was from the die in Bold Butterfly Thinlits in Silver Glitter paper again.

The measurements:

Whisper White – Base card 5 1/2″  x 8 1/2″ folded at 4 1/4″; 4″ x 5 1/4″; 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″

Black – 3 3/4″ x 5″

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Better Together

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Whisper White, Black, Silver Glitter

Accessories – Floral Affection Embossing Folder, Bold Butterfly Thinlits, Bitty Butterfly Punch

I always think of butterflies when I think of sympathy cards because here in San Diego one of our Hospice groups does a butterfly release each year to represent those loved ones who have passed. Both my father and mother in law were cared for by those fantastic nurses.

I do hope you enjoyed seeing this card. I just realized that both Bitty Butterfly Punch and Floral Affection Embossing Folder have retired on May 31. If you would like either…contact me and I will see if I can get them for you from other demos in our group. I have had 100% success so far. These transition periods always catch me because I really like some that have retired and hate to part with them. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Be back soon…until then…Happy Stamping!

Butterfly Basics Anniversary Card

Hello Dear Stampers! My husband and I recently celebrated our 48th Wedding Anniversary so I made this card for him. Once again it’s a CASE from another demo, Sonya Wilkes. I guess I shouldn’t look at all the demo cards because I fall in love with them. What can I say…there’s no need to reinvent the wheel!

Sonya did her card in pinks but I didn’t think my husband would appreciate that so I went with Marina Mist. I also changed the sentiment.

I loved the detail of the different stamps and I always love a butterfly addition.

I really like this inside sentiment and I also wrote my own message below it.

The pearls always add to the body of the butterfly.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Butterfly Basics, Timeless Love

Ink – Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Garden Green

Paper – Marina Mist, Whisper White

Accessories – Butterflies Thinlits, Pearls

Thank you to Sonya Wilkes for the inspiration to make this great card!

Be back soon, until then…Happy Stamping!

Floral Phrases Congrats

This is the last of my Congrats Cards which we made in the May classes. This one is a CASE from a fellow demo in my upline group, Robbi Raher. She sent this card to me as a Thank You for a demo Make & Take we did before On Stage. I fell in love with it and decided to CASE it.

I did change it up a bit. I used white ribbon bow whereas Robbi used Night of Navy Baker’s Twine. I added the stamp on the envelope and of course, changed the sentiment. I just now noticed a little script on the card…I think it’s my watermark in miniature. Sorry about that!

Robbi had pearls and I liked the touch so I also added the three pearls.

Can you see why I liked this card so much!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Floral Phrases

Ink – Night of Navy

Paper – Whisper White, Night of Navy, Floral Boutique DSP

Accessories – White Ribbon, Pearls

Hope you enjoyed seeing this lovely card. Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Washi Congrats

Hello Stampers…today I’m using a bit of Washi Tape to make a congratulations card.

I’m not big on torn Washi so I cut all my pieces. That’s the great thing about cardmaking…you make it the way you want. I have really been using the Balloon Bouquet Punch a great deal…it makes such festive balloons.

That bit of Silver Washi Tape is now retired but it just fit this card so perfectly I had to use it.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Thoughtful Banners

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Tip Top Taupe, Melon Mambo, Black, Silver Foil, Whisper White

Accessories – Duet Banner Punch, Balloom Bouquet Punch, White Bakers Twine, Pop of Pink Washi Tape, Silver Washi Tape

By popping up the balloons and the banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals the card has depth. If you have a bunch of Washi Tape laying around you really should keep it handy and add a strip or two or more to your next card. I had forgotten all about how Washi Tape adds to a card.

This is a great card to use for either male or female. I like that since I really don’t make many masculine type cards.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and will try to make some cards using Washi Tape. Remember…once you create your own card, send me a photo via email and you could be my next Guest Stamper!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Congrats in Gold

Hello Stampers! Sometimes we see a card someone has made and you just want to make it too. We call this CASE (Copy And Share Everything).  My upline, Mary Fish, made this and I just love the simplicity so I had to copy it. We actually made this in one of my classes because it is just so elegant and subtle.

This card was made with Very Vanilla, Gold Foil, doily, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Layering Circles Framelits.  I’m thinking I might use the Vanilla side of the doily and maybe do some sponging with Crumb Cake to make it stand out more. Mary used sequins but since I no more gold sequins left I just used a hole punch to make my little gold dots. Notice the second layer of Very Vanilla is popped up.

I’m also thinking a gold doily or one from our new die set Eastern Medallions. Check it out.

This time I changed the orientation of the card, put the circle punch out in the middle and used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits for the center. I actually used three dies together.

I really like this simple and clean card.  It’s so great to start with one idea and then let the creative juices go.

Until my next post…try this one out and Happy Stamping!
