Paisley Thanksgiving

Hello fellow stampers – I have one more Thanksgiving card for you, AGAIN using my new favorite – Paisleys & Posies stamp set.

paisley-thanksgiving-1

I think this combination of Elegant Eggplant, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Copper Foil and Copper Embossing Powder is just elegant. This is my favorite Thanksgiving card. The sentiment is perfect.

paisley-thanksgiving-2

The Copper Foil and Copper Embossing Powder add just enough shimmer.

Thanksgiving Paisleys and Posies

Here we are with Halloween just ahead of us and I’m already into Thanksgiving. In card making we must stay ahead. I need to get my Christmas cards out the day after Thanksgiving because we will be traveling and I won’t have any other time after that and before Christmas. So, after my Thanksgiving posts you’ll be seeing LOTS of Christmas cards! 🙂

This card and the one in my next post both use Paisleys and Posies. I really wasn’t going to get this set but I just couldn’t resist and I’m so happy I got it! You’ll also see a lot of Copper Foil. This has been such a huge hit that supplies are low and it may take a while to order after this foil is gone. So, if you are on the fence about getting the Copper Foil…go for it before it’s all gone.

This card is very clean and simple. Thanksgiving isn’t a foo foo time for me…it’s all about the food!

You can see that the Copper Foil cut outs do add some pizzazz. I also added a strip of the matching DSP on the inside to pull it all together.

I’m really hooked on the Paisleys & Posies stamp set, Paisley Framelits and Petals & Paisleys DSP. Add the Copper Foil and you have a fantastic package to make tons of different cards! And to think I fought getting these. You never really know what you want until you see what others have done with the set.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Petals & Paisleys DSP, Copper Foil Sheets

Accessories – Paisley Framelits Dies, Linen Thread

Until my next Thanksgiving card post…Happy Stamping!

World Card Making Day Winner

This is a very quick post. One of my wonderful customers and stamping friends, Judy Corwin, submitted two cards she made on October 1 for World Card Making Day. I had hoped that more of you would have sent cards in but maybe next year you will get into the spirit.

Judy made this unique card and I love the way she put the foliage on the tree. Check this out…

judy-corwin-1

Great job, Judy. So colorful…a great fall note card!

Here’s another she created with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits.

This card is so clever the way she used the Swirls to make the snowman. The hat, scarf and present totally add to the snowman.

Judy will receive the “Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit” for celebrating World Card Making Day. Congratulations, Judy.  A job well done.

I’ll be back soon with a Thanksgiving card…until then…Happy Stamping!

Lovely As A Tree – Double Flip Card

Hello my dear fellow stampers! Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving card using the Double Flip Fold. I’ll also describe the construction. It’s easy!

thanksgiving-double-fold-1

Lots of little details…like the Versa Mark leaves in the background and the drops of color on the white.

Then you pull the corner of the square and…

As the card opens the corner flips so it is visible on the inside now. Neat, huh!

thanksgiving-double-flip-2

Here’s a close up of the leaves. I just took a bunch of markers and kept adding color. I REALLY like the way these leaves turned out.

This is a wonderful fold and can be used for everything!

Double Flip Card

Card Base – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

To make fold over – make a tic mark at 1/2″ from fold at top; another along right side at 3 3/4″. Using your Stampin’ Trimmer connect the marks and score

Inside – color card stock (I used Pumpkin Pie on this card) 4 x 5 1/4; neutral color (I used Whisper White) 3 3/4 x 5

Outside – color 3 1/2 x 3 1/2; neutral 3 1/4 x 3 1/4

Banner – color 5 1/2 x 3/4; neutral 2 1/2 x 5/8

I used an old favorite stamp set – Lovely As A Tree. Some have asked why it has been around so long…because it is a “go to” stamp set!

Products used:

Stamp Sets – Lovely As A Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink – Cajun Craze, Versamark

Paper – Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers – Pumpkin Pie, Peekaboo Peach, Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze

Hello Fall!

Hello Fall 1

This happy card celebrates fall. I really like the Wonderful Wreaths Framelits and all the different stamps Stampin’ Up! offers us to use with that framelit. This card is clean and crisp. As you can see, I’m using those cute little leaves from the For All Things SS again but this time as a background.

Hello Fall 2

To make this card I used:

Stamp Sets:  A Little Something, For All Things, Wondrous Wreath

Ink:  Delightful Dijon, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake

Paper:  Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand

Accessories:  Wonderful Wreaths Framelits, Linen Thread, Candy Dots

You really should check out the Wonderful Wreaths Framelits and the stamp sets – Wondrous Wreath (page 72 AC), Circle of Spring (page 77 AC) and Peaceful Wreath (page 21 Holiday Catalog) that coordinate with it. Have fun!

Happy Stamping!

Give Thanks Sheltering Tree

Sheltering Tree, Give Thanks

Another September Class card. I LOVE trees and fall is the perfect time to celebrate trees. The stamp set Sheltering Tree is also very versatile (as I mentioned in my last post about the Happy Scenes SS). Not only is there a rake but also a swing and bike along with a few sentiments, grass and snow flakes. It is one GREAT set. Just take a look on page 89 of the annual catalog for some ideas.

To make this card I used:

Stamp Sets:  Sheltering Tree, And Many More (the little sentiment), A Little Something (leaves)

Ink:  Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso and Marina Mist

Paper:  Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip

Accessories:  Word Window Punch

There is one more card we made so watch for that post coming soon.

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek…lovin’ these two items!

I’m delighted that Stampin’ Up! has brought out the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies in the new Holiday Catalog. (By the way…it will go “live” on Sept. 1 and you’ll be able to see it on my blog.)

Thanksgiving Pillow Box

And it is topped off with the NEW Festive Flower Builder Punch. I decided to make some different flowers before I get into the Poinsettias.

Yellow flower

There are sooo many GREAT items in the new Holiday Catalog. I can’t wait for you to get your hands on it.

There will be more Sneak Peeks to come. Stay tuned!

Happy Stamping!

Wondrous Thanksgiving Wreath

I’ve already mentioned how much I love the new Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and Wonderful Wreath Framelits so to show the versatility of this bundle I used it for Thanksgiving. You’ll be seeing that set again for future holidays!

Give Thanks

Here’s another quick and easy card (of course there are 3 steps to making the wreath).  Now if you think about it…you can immediately see ways to “WOW” this card. Add another layer of color or just Whisper White, use Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler on the berries and bow or add another layer of wreath. This card is a start for you…now…you be creative!

I used:

Stamp Sets – Wondrous Wreath & For All Things,

Paper – Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White & Mossy Meadow

Ink – Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow & Cajun Craze

Accessories – Decorative Label Punch & Wonderful Wreath Framelits

Happy Stamping!

Happy Thanksgiving in Blackberry Bliss
