Christmas Floating Gate Fold Card and a Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers!

I told you I was starting my Christmas Card making and here’s a special one I came up with using the fold that inspired me by Dawn Griffith. She does such an awesome job of describing and doing a video I will give you the link later in the post.

I’m loving the NEW Wreath Builder Dies.!

As you open the Gate Fold the two Poinsettias pop up and the sentiment is visible.

I LOVE this card but I must warn you it’s a lot of work. I got an order to make 4 of these so I made 8…what a job! Not difficult – just a lot of parts and pieces. 🙂

This card is great and if you don’t want to do the floating pop up just do the gate fold and a nice sentiment and embellishment on the inside.

I’ll give your the link to Dawn Griffith and the products I used then I’ll introduce my Guest Stamper! https://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2020/04/floating-gate-fold-card-video.html

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Arrange A Wreath, Greatest Part of Christmas (R)

Ink – Real Red

Paper – Real Red, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Old Olive, In Good Taste DSP

Accessories – Wreath Builder Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Layering Squares Dies

My Guest Stamper has been a long time customer and class attendee. Barbara sent me an email recently with photos to show me how she had spent the day. She made 10 cards and used the same concept but changed the layouts. Very Clever!

Here’s just one of her cards.

As I stated, Barbara changed up the shapes and position of the shapes as she created more cards.

It seems that as I tried to sharpen her images they showed up looking a little marred. Sorry about that!

Thanks to Barbara for sharing. It seems we all have a lot more time to create. Please send me photos of your creations by email and I will post them.

I have another Christmas Card made for next week’s post. Until then…Happy Stamping!   Stay Safe!    Donna

Guest Stamper – Jacki Nagle

Hello Stampers!

Today I have another card from Guest Stamper Jacki Nagle. Jacki has been very busy organizing her stamping supplies and she has found many items she has decided to put to good use. Her card today does use some Stampin’ Up! products as well as other companies’ products.

Notice that Jacki used DSP and then Vellum on top to give the softened look.

This is her inside sentiment.

One last look. I love the way Jacki photographed her card among the plant and flowers.

Thank you to Jacki for sharing with us. I know you are out there creating cards and I’d love to have you share as my Guest Stamper. Don’t be shy. All I need are some good photos sent to my email address – donnamk47@yahoo.com

Watch for my Friday post. Hint…a 3-D pop up box card.

Until then…Happy Stamping!     Donna

Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers!

Today I have another Guest Stamper. With all this “staying in” and “away from others” many of you are stamping up a storm. I am trying out many new folds and cards and I’m having a great time.

Jacki has been one of my Guest Stampers in the past and she is now working daily on her cards. She makes a bunch and then sends them off to her cousin to share. Jacki also does some stamping for a friend who lives in Assisted Living and loves to make cards.

Unfortunately Jacki only took this one photo before she sent her cards off in the mail.

Jacki has been using her Aqua Painters (now called Water Painters) and perfecting her water coloring skills. She told me she had added some stamping to her inside with the sentiment but didn’t take a photo 😦

I know you are making some GREAT cards – please share your creativity. If you send several photos then we can see how you did the inside and different views of the front of your card. Remember…with Stampin’ Up! we love to CASE – Copy And Share Everything!

Until Friday – Happy Stamping!  Stay healthy!    Donna

Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers!

Today I have another Guest Stamper – Susan Krivitz. Susan is a friend, fellow stamper and a Stampin’ Up! Hobby Demo. As a Hobby Demo Susan takes advantage of her discount but doesn’t sell  or do classes or parties. Check out my Newsletter to see how you too can become a Hobby Demo now and get a free bundle of your choosing.

Susan Krivitz created this Graduation card which coincided with Memorial Weekend.

I love the excitement in this card. Great job, Susan!

Since I already shared my Father’s Day card the other day I’ll wait to post another card next week.

Be sure to celebrate all the father’s in your life on Sunday.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Guest Stamper – Judy Corwin

Hello Stampers!  Today my post features the creativity of a dear friend and stamper, Judy Corwin. Judy has sent me a few photos of what she has been working on during our time “at home”.

I’m sure you recognize Free As A Bird Stamp Set.

Isn’t this box just too darling. Judy makes a lot of small boxes and containers and fills them with goodies for her Bunko group. Great colors and I love how she used the petals on the top!

Just beautiful with a lot of fussy cutting!

Poppies are so “in” this year! This card is so bright and colorful!

Thank you Judy for sharing your beautiful cards with us.

So…if you are making cards please send photos to me and you too may be a Guest Stamper.  Don’t be shy…stampers love to share ideas.

Happy Stamping!

Valentines and Birthday Cards by Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers! Today I’d like to share some cards my guest stamper and granddaughter created. Ashlyn is 9 years old and LOVES to make cards. While she spent a week with us she made 33 Valentine cards for her classmates and an adorable birthday card for her little sister.

This card was created for Ashlyn’s little sister who just turned 4. Emmalyn LOVES flamingos so…of course Ashlyn had to use our retired flamingo stamp.

You can see a tiny bit of her inside.  Ashlyn decided to type her sentiment and then use a die to cut it out.

Now to her Valentine cards…she did use a new non Stampin’ Up! die and she became quite proficient with the electric die cutter. She made pink cards for the girls and red for the boys & her male teacher. Total of 33 Valentine Cards!

Ashlyn cut all the scalloped circles and then used the Stamparatus to stamp the greeting. She was quite impressed with the Stamparatus and how easy and perfect each impression came out. As you can see she used dies a LOT! The little white and red hearts were all cut out with dies using the Big Shot and the actual base cards were cut using an electric die cutter.

Needless to say…I’m VERY proud of her. I’m sure there will be more great cards created by Ashlyn in the future.

Take care, stay healthy and ….Happy Stamping!    Donna

Nine Year Old Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers! Sorry I missed my Monday blog post but I had my 9 year old granddaughter with us for the week and we were so busy the time just flew by! I’ve also had major computer problems. I was ready to send it in for repair (still under warranty) but it decided to behave! I swear computers have a mind of their own!

While here Ashlyn, my granddaughter, wanted to make cards. She is crazy about cardmaking and she is really becoming very good for nine years old! I thought I’d share her cards today and make her my Guest Stamper!

Here’s her first card. Needs to work on inking but loved punching out the flowers. I did help her with the ribbon.

Card #2 and she learned how to dry emboss. That was great fun for her. Again, she LOVES the punches!

Card #3. This time we talked about used DSP as a background. She really liked this die. She is now crazy about the Big Shot and dies!

Card #4 we got into some real stamping! Next time we’ll need to work on getting the leaves in place. But I think she did a great job!

This was her last card and I think the most impressive. As I said…she really likes using the Big Shot and dies.

So…if you know someone who says “oh, I’m not crafty”…tell or show them what a 9 year old can do with a little guidance. When you come to my classes I will guide you through the steps.  Even if you have NEVER stamped…you can be successful. There is no failure in card making. (When we goof, we find a way to cover it up or change it in some way.)

Fingers crossed my computer behaves for me and I’ll have another card for you on Friday. Until then…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Guest Stamper!

Happy Monday Stampers! Today I have a guest stamper, Ann Parmley.  She was a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator many, many years ago and has come back to stamping (not as a demo). She is graciously sharing her cards with us.

This is the Birthday card she made for her mom. Her ice cream looks so real! She used Cool Treats Stamp Set and Frozen Treats Framelits.

This staggered look is very popular now…very cool.

This one is a winner in my book!  She used the Window Box Thinlits and Nailed It from the Occasions Catalog. Isn’t it just great! This one is for her dad for Father’s Day.

I forgot to mention…Ann is my cousin and I’m so happy she is stamping again. I hope we’ll see more of her great work.

You too can be a guest stamper…just send me nice clear photos via my email.

See you on Friday with a card and bookmark I made for my granddaughter for her birthday. Until then, Happy Stamping!

Donna

Pretty Spring Card by my Guest Stamper

I’d like to show you a beautiful card created by Jacki Nagle. She is fairly new to Stampin’ Up! products and has started a great collection which she used to create this bright and cheery card.

Jacki A 4.5.15

I love how she used the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder on the DSP.

Jacki B 4.5.15

Here’s another view. I’m sure we are going to see many creative cards done by Jacki.

I would LOVE to have you as my guest stamper! It’s easy – make a card, take a photo or two and send them to me. I’ll post them so others can admire them and maybe even CASE them (Copy And Share Everything).

Thank you Jacki for sharing your creativity and beautiful card.

Happy Stamping!
