Easter Message

Happy Friday, stampers! End of another week that went by all too fast. I did get in a lot of card making this week. I’m busy working on my swaps for the Pals swap at the Stampin’ Up! On Stage here in San Diego on April 8th. Three of us San Diego Pals are hosting a Make & Take with fellow Pals on Friday so I’m also prepping kits for that event. Busy, busy!

Hope you had a great week and did find time to stamp, scrap or make cards. Today I’m using the new set Easter Message for a religious Easter Card. This set is just lovely.

I only used the one stamp set to make this card. It’s a keeper for sure.

This photo gives you a better look at the embossing on the Soft Sky cardstock.

Simple message inside…also from Easter Message Stamp Set along with the palm frons. The blooming of our flowers helps make this a spring card.

Timeless Tags – Easter

Happy Monday, Stampers!  Hope you had a fantastic weekend. We did! Our Marine son in law came home yesterday after being in Okinawa for a whole year! He and our daughter surprised their three children (they thought he’d be home on Tuesday). My husband and I had the children while our daughter went to a “meeting” and then we met her (and daddy) at a Mexican restaurant (his favorite). The oldest, started crying the minute she saw him (eight years old), the middle son (six years old) just stared at him and the three year old kept yelling “daddy, daddy, daddy”.  It was the best! We all had a wonderful dinner and we are all so happy he is home. The poor guy had been up for two days and with the time change he was dead on his feet. He will need a week to adjust!

We’re so happy he will be here for Easter. So, today I have a VERY quick and easy Easter card for you.

The Wisteria Wonder card is embossed with Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. The glimmer is from the Sale-A-Bration FREE Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer pack and Silver Glimmer Washi tape (retired).

The oval is cut from the Timeless Tags Thinlits.  I think I’ll get a lot of use out of that set!  The tiny message is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (another great set).

The inside says it all…

The sentiment is from a retired set Blessed Easter and the lilies are from Easter Message (in the Occasions Catalog). A touch of quick color and the flowers pop.

As you can see, Spring flowers are blooming here in San Diego.  It’s wonderful!  Makes me want to stamp lots of flower cards!

Stampin’ Up! products used:

Stamp Sets – Easter Message, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Blessed Easter (R)

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Write Markers

Paper – Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer

Accessories – Silver Glimmer Washi Tape (R), Timeless Tags Thinlits, Project Life Corner Rounder, Elegant Dots Embossing Folder

This card is basic but think about adding a doily and maybe pop up a little banner with the Happy Easter, etc. You can be creative and make this card your own.

This is another one of the six cards I designed for my March classes. Participants had the choice of making one of each design or up to two of any designs for a total of six cards. I tried something a bit different. Attendees really liked it. I’ll think about this some more…it was a ton of work. 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I’ll be back on Friday with another Easter card.

Until Friday…Happy Stamping!

Donna

Easter Daisy

Hello Stampers! Hope you all had a great weekend. Did you do any stamping? When you create your cards you should send a good photo via email to me and I’ll post them on my blog with you as my guest stamper. A couple stampers have done this, so give it a try. We all like to see other stampers cards. We each have our own style so it’s nice when you get to see a variety of styles.

I have discovered that I love the Timeless Tags Thinlits! They are really so versatile. Here’s an Easter card I played around with.

I often like to show you my first attempt at a card and then tell you how I might change it. Creativity is a process! I LOVE the thinlit! To make this flower come alive I had to die cut each color and then carefully glue each little piece in it’s proper place. This is too time consuming to do in a class but well worth the effort.

Here’s the inside of the card. I used Delicate Details (FREE SAB item) and the retired Easter Blessings for the Occasions 2013 catalog. I will never part with this stamp! It is the perfect size, font and sentiment!

So, this is what I think I would change. First I’d emboss the whole front of the card – with either Sparkle or Lovely Lace Embossing Folders. I think the banner down the middle overpowers the card so I think I’d do a stitched shape…maybe even a square. That bow has to go…a different ribbon or even Baker’s Twine. I’ll try to do another today in a different color combo and have it ready for my Friday post.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Easter Blessings (R), Delicate Details (SAB)

Ink – Elegant Eggplant

Paper – Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Old Olive

Accessories – Timeless Tags Thinlits, Tea Lace Paper Doilies (R), Ribbon (R

Blessed Easter

Here’s another Easter card for you…

Blessed Easter

I must explain that I used a retired stamp set but I just LOVE this stamp. It’s from the Occasions 2014 catalog. There are some demos who are willing to part with it so if you are interested…just let me know and I’ll post it on our Pals private FB page. It’s a one piece wood set but I cut the sentiment so I could use separately too.

Of course, I used Blackberry Bliss…my favorite retiring In Color. (Reminder – all the 2014-16 In Colors will retire on May 31. If there are items you would like – now is the time to get them while Sale-A-Bration is still on.)

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Blessed Easter (R)

Ink – Blackberry Bliss, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi

Paper – Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White

Accessories – Aqua Painters, Curvy Trio Punch

Hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Happy Stamping!

Easter Lamb

It’s that time again when we celebrate Easter. I just had to use this adorable little lamb from the Occasions Catalog.

Easter Lamb 1

I made this card first and since then several others in different color combinations. I made a couple Easter cards in Blushing Bride and Perfect Plum – they came out darling. Then I used that same combo without the “Happy Easter” and made them into baby cards. Be creative with your stamp sets – don’t get stuck on one theme.

Easter Lamb 2

Of course, we always need to decorate the envelope. Wink of Stella Clear was brushed on the lamb to give it a bit of sparkle. The Cajun Craze marker was used for the “hand stitching” around the frame with a bit of sponging also in Cajun Craze. I actually cut the ribbon in half to make it thinner so as not to overwhelm the lamb.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Easter Lamb, Botanical Blooms on the envelope

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi, Hello Honey

Paper – Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Botanical Gardens DSP

Accessories – Deco Labels Framelits, Stampin’ Write Markers in Wild Wasabi, Cajun Craze & Pink Pirouette, Clear Wink of Stella, Hello Honey Satin Stitched Ribbon

This lamb is just so cute and I’ve had such fun using it on different cards. Please send photos your Easter creations and I’ll post them here on my blog.

Punch Bunny Easter Card

I have been wanting to make a card with a bunny for years. I found this adorable bunny on Pinterest and I just love the way it turned out.

Punch Bunny Easter

I think I’ll put ribbon or a strip of paper (maybe DSP) to separate the Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi on my next card. It’s a great card for the grandchildren.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Birthday Blossoms, Rose Wonder, Delightful Dozen (Retired)

Ink – Crumb Cake, Soft Sky

Paper – Whisper White, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Basic Black

Accessories – 1″ Circle Punch (1 in Whisper White), 3/4″ Circle Punch (2 in Whisper White), 1 3/4″ Circle Punch (1 in Whisper White), 1 3/4″ Oval Punch (4 in Whisper White and 1 in Pink Pirouette cut in half), Word Window Punch (1 in black cut in half), Rose Garden Thinlits, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, White Gel Pen, Project Life Pen 0.1

Try this delightful little guy out for yourself. Once I had all the pieces I sponged the edges of the Whisper White with Crumb Cake to give more depth. I popped up the top of bunny with dimensionals but adhered the paws directly to the Wild Wasabi. The sentiment is also popped up. I added a pink bow but you could go crazy with embellishments on this bunny. If you have the Sale-A-Bration set Pedal Pusher you might find a way to use some of those little stamps to add on.

Please share your bunny creations with me and I’ll post them on my blog.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!
