Friend Flip Fold Card

Hi Stampers.

Since today is the Fourth of July I’d like to wish you all a Happy Fourth! Shock…I do not have a red, white and blue card for you. 🙂 Instead, I have a little different twist on a greeting card. Got the inspiration from Dawn Griffith. She has so many great ideas so “why invent the wheel”!

Instead of the normal card this one has a single piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then you build from there.

I used the new In Color – Fresh Fig and the Fresh Florals DSP. Those new In Colors are great.

The Blushing Bride is adhered to the Fresh Fig and then there is a small fold in the DSP which adheres over the Blushing Bride. Whisper White is then centered with the back of the DSP onto the Blushing Bride. It’s quite different and I do like unique folds and cards.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Bunch of Blossoms

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Fresh Fig, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Laying Circles Framelits, White Satin Ribbon (R), 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 2″ Circle Punch

This is such a fun card to make and I can see it made with all the new In Colors. It would make a great gift set of Thank You cards in a cute little box!  Hmm…just might do that!

Here are the measurements I used:

Fresh Fig – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″;  Blushing Bride – 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″;  Whisper White – 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″;  DSP – 3 1/4″ x 6″, score on the 3 1/4″ side at

5 9/16″.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White and then punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. Punch out a 1 3/4″ circle from Fresh Fig, and a 2″ circle from Silver Glimmer. Glue them together. (Might want to use your Fast Fuse especially on the Glimmer paper.)     Using the 2 1/8″ Circle Framelit cut out a circle in the DSP, then use that die and the 2 1/2″ Scallop die together to make the frame. Glue it together and add the ribbon and you’ve got an awesome card.

Give this card a try and send me a photo…I’ll highlight you as my guest stamper!

Congrats in Gold

Hello Stampers! Sometimes we see a card someone has made and you just want to make it too. We call this CASE (Copy And Share Everything).  My upline, Mary Fish, made this and I just love the simplicity so I had to copy it. We actually made this in one of my classes because it is just so elegant and subtle.

This card was made with Very Vanilla, Gold Foil, doily, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Layering Circles Framelits.  I’m thinking I might use the Vanilla side of the doily and maybe do some sponging with Crumb Cake to make it stand out more. Mary used sequins but since I no more gold sequins left I just used a hole punch to make my little gold dots. Notice the second layer of Very Vanilla is popped up.

I’m also thinking a gold doily or one from our new die set Eastern Medallions. Check it out.

This time I changed the orientation of the card, put the circle punch out in the middle and used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits for the center. I actually used three dies together.

I really like this simple and clean card.  It’s so great to start with one idea and then let the creative juices go.

Until my next post…try this one out and Happy Stamping!

Timeless Love

Hello Stampers. Hope this greeting finds you all in good health. This seems to be the season for anniversaries so today I have a very pretty anniversary card for you. (My husband and I are celebrating our 48th tomorrow May 9.)

I’m very happy with the way this card turned out. The doily adds the wedding like touch therefore this card could be used as a wedding card too. Actually…for almost any occasion if you just change the sentiment. I like to use color on color for backgrounds and the word “congratulations” worked out great. The circle is popped up. The vellum is not plain…it has a little flower pattern to it (retired).

This is a great sentiment from the Timeless Love Stamp Set. This whole card was done using only that set. Unfortunately it will be retiring on June 1. (If you like it, get it now!)

That little sprig of flowers colored with markers really adds to the inside as well as the envelope.

The pearls look as though they are holding the banner in place and also add a little bling.

Bermuda Bay Medallion

Hello Stampers! I hope everyone had a great weekend!

I think my very favorite item from Sale-A-Bration is the Make a Medallion Stamp Set. I just love the versatility of it. Here’s one of the six cards we made in my March classes.

I only used the Make a Medallion Stamp Set for the entire card. I found some beautiful Glitter Ribbon (R) that fits perfectly. I need to make a lot more variations using this set. There are tons on Pinterest.

The “popped up” scalloped circle makes a great background along with the “popped up” greeting.

Go through all your cardstock and make up new combinations. The different designs and colors are almost endless. If you don’t already have this stamp set…you still have time to get it for FREE (March 31). Check my newsletter for details…if you aren’t on my newsletter email list then you need to send me a request via my email. Every Tuesday I send out all the latest and greatest about Stampin’ Up! in my newsletter.

Lovely Valentine

Here’s another great design for Valentine’s Day. I was inspired by Juana Ambida.

lovely-valentine-1

I love that this card uses the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit from last year’s Occasions Catalog and was held over in the Annual Catalog. This is one great die set. You will also recognize that I used the Love Notes Framelits again.

lovely-valentine-2

Since you need to stamp the little hearts on the side AFTER you cut them…it’s a bit difficult to hit the middle of every heart (as you can see). Don’t know exactly what happened with the bottom three hearts! Maybe it was late and my vision was off. Ha,ha!

The inside…

Products Used:

Stamp Set – Sealed With Love

Ink – Real Red

Paper – Whisper White, Real Red, Sending Love DSP

Accessories – Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Have fun with all these great Framelits and Thinlits. They really add pizzazz to any card.

Hope you are enjoying these Valentine Cards – one more to come on Friday. Then I’ll need to create some Birthday cards for my February classes. We all need Birthday cards!

Just a reminder – I use my blog strictly to show my creations. Z Fold for You

Well, now that we are fully into the new catalog and I have so many new items…it’s time to clean house! I’m trying to use old DSP and get rid of scraps of papers, etc. that I have saved. In today’s post I used some recently retired DSP but in future posts you may see some really retired papers and colors. I’m also selling a bunch of stamp sets and some other items at half price. Must make way for new items and ideas. Now don’t get me wrong…I have kept a LOT of retired stamp sets and punches because I just can’t part with them. 🙂

I have always liked the Z fold cards and this one is just a basic one.

For You Z Fold 1

I’m also using DSP to make matching envelope liners.

For You Z Fold 2

There are many things you can do with the Z Fold…

For You Z Fold 4

Here’s a nice view of another favorite…the gold foil butterfly.

For You Z Fold 3

What I used to create this card:

Stamp Set – Birthday Blooms

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Mint Macaron, Cajon Craze, Whisper White, Botanical Gardens DSP (R)

Accessories – Bold Butterfly Framelit, Layering Circles Framelits, Gold Cord, Gold Foil Sheet, Envelope Liner Framelit (R)

I realize you can’t see the little flap on the inside but it was done in a coordinating paper. I know the Envelope Liner Framelit is retired but I will probably never stop using it. I love the look it gives on the envelopes. I have some really old paper that I have been cutting into 6×6 pieces so that I can make envelope liners from them.

Once I get through some of my scraps I really need to concentrate on Christmas cards. Since I have three of the past sets that were carried over I’ll have something to work with. Then when the Holiday Catalog comes out in September I’ll have some new ones to choose from. This will be a sad Christmas card making time since I have made cards for many years with my friend who recently moved to North Carolina. Even my husband commented on it. I can’t count how many years we made special time to get together and make our cards. We’ll probably still talk about designs though.

Stay tuned for ways to use up scraps on new cards.

Happy Stamping!
