Brusho Congrats

Hello Stampers!  Today I’m showing you what I have done with our new Brusho Color Crystals. I’m showing two different techniques but there are so many more things you can do with these great color crystals.

Let’s start with the background. This is regular Whisper White cardstock. I left it dry and sprinkled the Prussian Blue. I then used our Stampin’ Spritzer on an angle and just sprayed. The force of the spray made the color move and of course the water made the color bleed.  I was delighted with the results because each one looks like another flower. I let it completely dry – it may curl a bit but if you use adhesive on all four edges the cardstock will lay flat.

To make the central flowers I used Watercolor Paper. I first stamped the image (from Remarkable You) with Versa Mark then used White Embossing Powder and set it with our Heat Tool. Next I used our Aqua Painters and dropped water onto the flower. While the water was still bubbled, I sprinkled the yellow (added a touch of orange and Brilliant Red). Don’t worry about going over the edges since you will cut the flower out. Then I left them to completely dry. If you are in a hurry to use them then use your Heat Tool to dry. As they dry you will see some awesome color combinations appear.

Once the flowers are completely dry cut them out around the outer edges of the white embossing. The flowers are “popped up” with Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed onto the background.

Next I used the Sunshine Wishes Framelits and cut out the Congrats on Silver Foil paper. I also popped the word up.  I added some leaves from the Leaf Punch but I think I might omit the leaves on a future card and just let the flowers stand alone.

I’m so pleased with how this card turned out. The Brusho Crystals can be used like watercolors or you could make a wash for a background with them. The key is to experiment.

Tip…be very careful with the Moss Green – it can look muddy if you use too much.

Tip…don’t take the whole lid off each container of Brusho. Instead use a tack and punch one hole in the cap. When not in use the tack can be placed into the hole so that you won’t have spills of crystals. I also found that if the hole seems to clog up just tap the container on the bottom and the flow of the sprinkle will work.

Tip…be sure to cover your work area…these colors are VERY powerful and can stain any surface if left.

Floral Phrases Congrats

This is the last of my Congrats Cards which we made in the May classes. This one is a CASE from a fellow demo in my upline group, Robbi Raher. She sent this card to me as a Thank You for a demo Make & Take we did before On Stage. I fell in love with it and decided to CASE it.

I did change it up a bit. I used white ribbon bow whereas Robbi used Night of Navy Baker’s Twine. I added the stamp on the envelope and of course, changed the sentiment. I just now noticed a little script on the card…I think it’s my watermark in miniature. Sorry about that!

Robbi had pearls and I liked the touch so I also added the three pearls.

Can you see why I liked this card so much!

Washi Congrats

Hello Stampers…today I’m using a bit of Washi Tape to make a congratulations card.

I’m not big on torn Washi so I cut all my pieces. That’s the great thing about cardmaking…you make it the way you want. I have really been using the Balloon Bouquet Punch a great deal…it makes such festive balloons.

That bit of Silver Washi Tape is now retired but it just fit this card so perfectly I had to use it.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Thoughtful Banners

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Tip Top Taupe, Melon Mambo, Black, Silver Foil, Whisper White

Accessories – Duet Banner Punch, Balloom Bouquet Punch, White Bakers Twine, Pop of Pink Washi Tape, Silver Washi Tape

By popping up the balloons and the banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals the card has depth. If you have a bunch of Washi Tape laying around you really should keep it handy and add a strip or two or more to your next card. I had forgotten all about how Washi Tape adds to a card.

This is a great card to use for either male or female. I like that since I really don’t make many masculine type cards.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card and will try to make some cards using Washi Tape. Remember…once you create your own card, send me a photo via email and you could be my next Guest Stamper!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Congrats in Gold

Hello Stampers! Sometimes we see a card someone has made and you just want to make it too. We call this CASE (Copy And Share Everything).  My upline, Mary Fish, made this and I just love the simplicity so I had to copy it. We actually made this in one of my classes because it is just so elegant and subtle.

This card was made with Very Vanilla, Gold Foil, doily, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Layering Circles Framelits.  I’m thinking I might use the Vanilla side of the doily and maybe do some sponging with Crumb Cake to make it stand out more. Mary used sequins but since I no more gold sequins left I just used a hole punch to make my little gold dots. Notice the second layer of Very Vanilla is popped up.

I’m also thinking a gold doily or one from our new die set Eastern Medallions. Check it out.

This time I changed the orientation of the card, put the circle punch out in the middle and used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits for the center. I actually used three dies together.

I really like this simple and clean card.  It’s so great to start with one idea and then let the creative juices go.

Until my next post…try this one out and Happy Stamping!

Royal Congrats

Our local high school’s colors are royal blue and white (with an accent of silver) and the band is called the Royal Regiment therefore a Royal Congrats will be needed for the graduates.

Royal Congrats 1

My daughter graduated from this high school and she approves of this card. 🙂 You just can’t go wrong with Rose Garden Thinlits and butterflies!

Here’s a peek at the inside. This is an awesome sentiment and these graduates have no clue what lies ahead of them and how meaningful this sentiment is.

Z Fold Flower Shop

Hello my dear stamping friends – it has been too long since I last posted because I’m so busy creating that I haven’t taken time to post. I have so many cards to share with you including a lot more Swaps.

I just love today’s card and I think I’ll be using this fold for many cards. I CASE’d the idea from the super creative Dawn Griffith. Once you master the fold…you can go crazy with decorations, sentiments and colors.

Z fold Flower Shop 1

It’s a basic 4 1/4″ by 5 1/2″ card when closed so it fits perfectly into a medium envelope.

Open it up full length…

Z Fold Flower Shop 2

I wanted to do something special with the centers of the flowers so I started with Dazzling Details but they looked too flat so I added Crystal Effects. Wow…what a difference! I think Crystal Effects are my new “go to” item. Here’s a close up so you can see what I mean.

Z Fold Flower Shop 3

See the sparkle from the Dazzling Details and the gloss and shape from the Crystal Effects? It’s like putting a jewel in each center.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Flower Shop, Wild About Flowers, Crazy About You

Ink – Rich Razzleberry

Paper – Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

Accessories – Pansy Punch, Dazzling Details, Crystal Effects

As I said…I LOVE this fold. I’m thinking Botanical Builder Framelits for the next one with some of the Botanical Gardens DSP.
