Painted Glass Sympathy

Hello Stampers! I have another sympathy card for you today as I promised.

Today’s second card uses the Painted Glass Stamp Set and Stained Glass Dies. I love this set…I say that a lot don’t I! But seriously…I’ve always loved stained glass and it’s great to be able to create a card with that effect.

Floral Essence Sympathy

Hello Stampers!

Today I have a couple sympathy cards for you. Since I got too busy last week to add a post I thought I’d send you two cards today.

We usually don’t like to think about sympathy cards but it is a necessity of life. Hope you like these two and hopefully CASE them. 🙂

This card is a bit different since you use a Gate Fold with a bit of a twist. I used the Floral Essence stamp set for these bright flowers.

As you start to open the card you see that the frame and image open up each on a separate flap.

Now the inside sentiment is being revealed.

There you have the card fully opened up and the full inside sentiment is visible.

This card may look complicated but it really is quite easy. I hope you will try it.

The base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 2 1/8″ on both sides.

Whisper White is 4 x 5 1/4″ – cut out the 4th largest rectangle from the Rectangle Stitched Dies

Frame 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ then the 3rd largest rectangle, skip one to make frame from Rectangle Stitched Dies

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Floral Essence, Itty Bitty Greetings, Kindness and Compassion

Ink – Pear Pizzaz, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody

Paper – Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Whisper White

Accessories – Rectangle Stitched Dies

I hope you enjoyed this card and will make one for yourself! Watch for card #2 in the next post.

Happy Stamping!

To A Wild Rose Sympathy

Hello Stampers!

Today I have the first of my three sympathy cards. I have a theme for each of my classes and we recently did Get Well and Sympathy so I’m sharing them with you.

I used to do three designs, two of each design in my stamping classes but now I make six different designs, one of each. The ladies enjoy that routine better. It’s more work for me to come up with six designs but it does seem to work better. I think I’ll need to post more often so that you can see them all. 🙂

In today’s card I used To A Wild Rose stamp set. It’s another great set.

I really like the two step stamp sets. You can get more depth.

As you can see I used the basic leaf stamp as my background for both the front and inside pieces on Soft Sea Foam cardstock. In this photo you can also see that I popped up the flowers and leaves on the front panel with Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – To A Wild Rose, Flourishing Phrases

Ink – Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Soft Sea Foam

Paper – Whisper White, Soft Sea Foam

Accessories – Wild Rose Dies, Stitched Shapes Dies

I hope you’ll try out these stamp sets and see how much you can do with the two step stamps.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!     Donna

Happy Tails

Hello Stampers!

Today’s card is just so cute. I made mine as a pet (dog) sympathy card but you can use so many other sentiments. This is a great punch and stamp set! This is a CASE from my upline Mary Fish.

I had to put the paw prints on the envelope flap…too cute!

This Highland Heather Gingham is just so beautiful. The dog is the smaller check and the other side is larger to use for the background.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Happy Tails

Ink – Gorgeous Grape

Paper – Whisper White, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Gingham Gala DSP

Accessories – Dog Builder Punch, Linen Thread, Stitched Shapes Framelits

Here’s one more view of this really cute card.

Can’t miss this shot…had to go big to get a crisp view. 🙂

In class the participants used a combination of Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green. I’m sorry I missed taking a photo of their creations…the greens looked awesome. I was thinking Balmy Blue and Pacific Point would also be a good combo.

The Dog Builder Punch and Happy Tails Stamp Set are real keepers…especially if you love dogs!

Until my next post…Keep on Stamping!

Happy Stamping!    Donna

Highland Heather Sympathy

Hello Stampers!  Today’s card features several new items. One of our new colors is Highland Heather…it’s lovely! I’ve also featured two new stamp sets – Painted Glass and Kindness & Compassion.

I know most people don’t like to make Sympathy cards but they are needed at times. I try to make my Sympathy cards a bit cheery and elegant. This card has a lot details that show the recipient you really care.

The die cut along the bottom comes from the new Stained Glass Thinlits. I wove a piece of white satin ribbon through it and the final result is beautiful. The Layered Leaves Embossing Folder gives the background a nice subtle touch of texture. This wonderful font greeting is from the Painted Glass Stamp Set.

This is a beautiful sentiment and the butterflies add a bit of color.

I  hope you have enjoyed this card and maybe you will try it yourself. Remember in stamping it’s CASE – Copy and Share Everything!

Tri-Fold Card

Hi Stampers!  Today I have a very versatile card for you. Yes, mine is a Valentine card…better late than never! I should have posted this on Wednesday but life got in the way. 🙂

In class some of the participants made this lovely card into a birthday card…you can put any sentiment you want on it.

Open the first page and find this lovely flourish.

And finally the inside where you can put your sentiment. I left this particular one blank until I need it and then decide what I want inside.

This card may look difficult but really isn’t.

Here are the measurements for this card:

Powder Pink – 6 3/8″ x 5 1/2″, score at 2 1/8″

Whisper White – 8″ x  5 1/4″, score at 4″; (2) 2 1/2″ x 4″

Sahara Sand – (2) 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″

DSP – 2″ x 5 3/8″ and 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

Use the photos to lay out your pieces then stamp and adhere.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Bloomin’ Love, Flourishing Phrases

Ink – Crumb Cake, Powder Pink

Paper – Powder Pink, Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers (Pear Pizzazz, Powder Pink)

This card is really lovely; I hope you will try making one.

Please try to stay healthy! The flu bug has hit my daughter and her family very hard…all 5 of them are down with the flu (mom, dad, 3 children). Unfortunately one of the girls also has pneumonia! This flu is nothing to fool around with so take care of yourselves.

Happy Stamping!      Donna

Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello Stampers and Happy New Year!

Today I have one of those cards you hate to make but they are very necessary…a Sympathy Card. This is a card I made for a dear friend and one of my down-line and her husband.

You won’t recognize this stamp set since it is from the Sale-A-Bration brochure (Heartfelt Blooms). I love it! It’s just so beautiful.

The texture and highlights of this flower are built into the stamp. Experiment with this stamp…I found that dark inks don’t work as well as the lighter colors.  You can use this by itself or as a light background.

For details about the New Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration…look for Crafty Cardmaker Weekly Newsletter tomorrow. Don’t receive my newsletter…contact me so I can add your name to my email mailing list at

Happy Stamping friends.          Donna
