Valentines and Birthday Cards by Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers! Today I’d like to share some cards my guest stamper and granddaughter created. Ashlyn is 9 years old and LOVES to make cards. While she spent a week with us she made 33 Valentine cards for her classmates and an adorable birthday card for her little sister.

This card was created for Ashlyn’s little sister who just turned 4. Emmalyn LOVES flamingos so…of course Ashlyn had to use our retired flamingo stamp.

You can see a tiny bit of her inside.  Ashlyn decided to type her sentiment and then use a die to cut it out.

Now to her Valentine cards…she did use a new non Stampin’ Up! die and she became quite proficient with the electric die cutter. She made pink cards for the girls and red for the boys & her male teacher. Total of 33 Valentine Cards!

Ashlyn cut all the scalloped circles and then used the Stamparatus to stamp the greeting. She was quite impressed with the Stamparatus and how easy and perfect each impression came out. As you can see she used dies a LOT! The little white and red hearts were all cut out with dies using the Big Shot and the actual base cards were cut using an electric die cutter.

Needless to say…I’m VERY proud of her. I’m sure there will be more great cards created by Ashlyn in the future.

Take care, stay healthy and ….Happy Stamping!    Donna

Daisy Field Thank You

Hello stampers!  Today I have a delightful card for you. I made it as a Thank You card but it would be a great Birthday card as well. I love daisies and this combo of the Daisy Delight Stamp Set and Daisy Punch make my day.

I’m pretty sure I was influenced by a card I saw somewhere on line but can’t remember where or who influenced me. This happens to all of us I’m sure…we view so many cards and subconsciously one or more stick in our memory banks. I apologize to the person who originally made this design or something similar.

The inside has a simple sentiment and leaves room for a lovely personal note.

I try to switch it up as to the direction in which a card opens…I think I’m partial to the vertical.

Stampin’ Up! Products used to make this card:

Stamp Set – Daisy Delight

Ink – Pool Party, Peekaboo Peach, Wild Wasabi, Cajun Craze

Paper – Peekaboo Peach, Whisper White, Pool Party, Cajon Craze

Accessories – 1/2″ Circle Punch, Gold Faceted Gems, Daisy Punch, Corner Rounder Punch

This is a fun card to make and it is quite versatile. Try it out and have some fun stamping time!

I’ll once again highlight my granddaughter’s card making in my next blog. She spent a week with us and LOVES to make cards.

Until next time…Happy Stamping!      Donna 🙂

Alcohol Technique in Blue

Hello dear stampers…today I have a card with a new technique to me.  A fellow demo, Robin Daus, demonstrated it for us at one of our team meetings. I love it! Some of you may already have seen the alcohol background technique but here’s my version.

I used Night of Navy and Soft Sky re-inkers.

Sorry about the poor quality – it was a rainy day and I guess I didn’t focus well. Couldn’t redo it since I’d already sent the card. Oh dear!

Here’s how easy it is to do this and every time you do it…the result is different!

Be sure to use Glossy White Paper

1.  Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.

2.  Take two complimentary colors (re-inkers) and put 4 drops (or less if really dark) of the darker color and 5 drops of the lighter color.

3.  Bounce the cotton ball randomly around the glossy white paper close together.

4.  Use an old t-shirt to blot the excess or let dry then shine it a bit.

Tip…use the same cotton ball again and see how different the pattern is.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Thankful Thoughts, Label Me Pretty

Ink – Night of Navy, Re-Inkers – Night of Navy & Soft Sky

Paper – Whisper White, Night of Navy, Glossy White

Accessories – Marina Mist Ribbon, Pretty Label Punch, Rubbing Alcohol, Cotton Balls

Once you try this technique you will love it.

Happy Stamping!    Donna

Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello Stampers and Happy New Year!

Today I have one of those cards you hate to make but they are very necessary…a Sympathy Card. This is a card I made for a dear friend and one of my down-line and her husband.

You won’t recognize this stamp set since it is from the Sale-A-Bration brochure (Heartfelt Blooms). I love it! It’s just so beautiful.

The texture and highlights of this flower are built into the stamp. Experiment with this stamp…I found that dark inks don’t work as well as the lighter colors.  You can use this by itself or as a light background.
