Garden in Bloom

Garden in Bloom 1

Isn’t this card lovely? I CASE’d it from a friend and fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, Debbie Mageed. When I saw it I knew I had to make one. Mine is not identical to hers but that’s what we do when we Copy And Share Everything. 🙂

Garden in Bloom 2

Debbie didn’t show an inside sentiment but more and more I like adding them right away rather than waiting until I send a card. I’m also using envelope liners a lot. Great way to use your old DSP! On this card I brought the Pacific Point DSP from the Pretty Petals 6 x 6 stack from the front to inside and again on the envelope.

Garden in Bloom 3a

This card was so much fun to make. I used Mint Macaron (NEW) for the card, then a layer of Very Vanilla, and both sides of DSP from the Pretty Petals DSP 6 x 6 Stack (NEW). I used the stamp set Garden in Bloom (NEW) 2 – step to make the flower and also the sentiment. Bordering Blooms for the trim on the bottom of the tag (which happens to match the DSP). The inside sentiment came from Tin of Cards Stamp Set (NEW). I used the retired 5/8″ Victoria Crochet Trim to hide the seam where the DSP met. The center of the flower has a Metallic Rimmed Pearl (NEW). The tag was made with the Scalloped Tag Topper and the corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Punch. I have no idea what the string is…I found it on the bottom of my loose ribbon box. It’s soft and a bit shiny so I used it. 🙂

Thanks again to Debbie Mageed for sharing and giving me this card idea.

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

We have another sketch challenge for this week.

PPA 261 sketch

Here’s my version…love Blackberry Bliss and Soft Sky!

PPA 261.1

Sorry if it isn’t  super clear…it’s hard to focus with all that sparkle! 🙂

Here’s the inside.

PPA 261.2

This card measures 5 1/2″ x 6″.  The card is Blackberry Bliss with Soft Sky and Silver Glimmer Paper for the stars. Embossing was done with Silver Embossing Powder. The background “twinkling stars” was made using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and the sentiment on front from Over the Rainbow (new). I also smudged some powder to make a “milky way” look.

The trio of stars was made using the Stars Framelits Dies that are on sale this week in the Weekly Deals.

The inside sentiment is from Tin of Cards Stamp Set (new). The little stars were punched using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

This card was so much fun to make. Try to create a card of your own using this sketch. I’d love to see what you come up with.

Happy Stamping!

Celebrate Pop Up Card

This fold is awesome…it looks terribly difficult but it’s not really…just lots of cutting or stamping.

The outer card is Pool Party and the inner piece is Watermelon Wonder.

Since this card comes out to 5″ x 6″ you need to make your own envelope with our Envelope Punch Board. Stampin’ Up! now offers Envelope Paper in our NEW In-Colors (I used Watermelon Wonder here). It is easy to work with and makes great envelopes. I’m sure if these sell well we may be offering other colors – at least I hope so!

Celebrate Pop-up Card 1

I like using the DSP stacks and these happy little balloons come from Cherry on Top DSP Stack. The word Celebrate was made using the stamp set Fabulous Four and masking out the words below it. The bow is made with the Whisper White Organza ribbon. Beautiful, isn’t it?

Celebrate Pop-up Card 2

Just a normal looking card from the front, but wait…

Celebrate Pop-up Card 3

Is that awesome or what! (That little leaf coming up from the bottom isn’t on the card!)

Here’s a shot close up and no leaves to detract 🙂

Celebrate Pop-up Card 4

The inside DSP is also from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack. The inside greeting and cake were stamped with the set Endless Birthday Wishes.

This card is just so much fun. Keep in mind you could use a favorite stamp to make your own DSP if you want a special theme.

I got the directions for this fold from my dear friend and fellow demo, Katy McGloin.

You must definitely try this card. Have fun.

Butterfly Pop Out Swing Card

July Card Class Card #2

Butterfly Pop Out Swing Card

This card is a winner. This was my sample but before class I decided I didn’t like the DSP I chose behind the butterflies so I changed it to Daffoldil Delight Cardstock. It looks much better. You may notice that the square with the butterflies is not adhered so you pull on the left side of the square and you will see…

Butterfly Pop Out Swing Card 2

Isn’t this so cool! I have Julie Davison to thank for the fold. (You can see her video for instructions –

Butterfly Pop Out Swing Card 3

This gives you a better idea of how it works.

I used Basic Black for the card, Whisper White for all the stamping paper and the Daffodil Delight behind the butterflies (not in this photo).

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stamp set…Watercolor Wings. It’s new and you can make these small butterflies or larger ones with a three stamp process. I started with Daffodil Delight for stamp one, Tangerine Tango for stamp 2 and Memento Black for the the detail in stamp 3. The front sentiment is also from this set. The center of the tri-fold is from Bordering Blooms and the sentiment from Petite Pairs.

This card is so striking – as I said – a winner!

Tomorrow is Tuesday and you know what that means…Weekly Deals; so I’ll have two more creations on Wednesday and Thursday.

Happy Stamping!

Double Flip Flop Card

This month’s theme for cards was “folded cards”.  I research a lot of ideas and looked at a lot of cards before I decided to use the ones you will see in the coming posts.

Here’s the first one we did. I thank Deb Valder for this idea. It’s very simple but is so appealing.

This is the front with the matching color envelope liner. I used a new favorite…Mint Macaron on Whisper White. I used the single stamp “Bloom for You” on the square. Of course I used the Banner Triple Punch. It saves so much time and you get a perfect banner every time!

Double Flip Flop Card 1

Pull on the square and…

Double Flip Flop Card 3

The square magically flips to the inside. The sentiment is from a Hostess Set – Happy Birthday, Everyone. I love it. Just have a Private Class and you could get it.

I really like the way this card turned out and it was fun to make.

Do try this card – here’s Deb Valder’s link for directions and her video:

Pals Paper Arts Challenge

Hi, I finally got to sit at my computer today and post my creation for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. I know I planned to post this month’s cards earlier but as summer goes I’ve been super busy. I promise I’ll do that tomorrow and Monday. 🙂

Here’s the sketch. Very simple and I didn’t elaborate on the design.

PPA 260

PPA 260.1

PPA 260.2

PPA 260.3

I used the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder for a background. I love how delicate this EF is. I made the flower using Flower Patch SS and Flower Fair Thinlits then added a white frame from the Floral Frames Thinlits. This card is VERY simple and clean. I used the small flower on the inside but did not add a sentiment since I can use this card for any occasion.

See you tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

This week’s color challenge for the Pals Paper Arts:

PPA 259 colors

And here is my creation:

PPA 259

These colors are patriotic but I changed it up a bit. Love this new stamp set Circle of Spring with the Wondrous Wreath Framelits. I don’t usually use doilies but I tried it and liked it. 🙂 I use these challenges to push myself out of my comfort zone a bit.

Why don’t you try to see what you can come up with using this color palette. Send me a photo and I’ll post it on my blog.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Don’t forget to reserve your seat for July classes and our special Tin of Cards session on Aug. 8th. (I’m hoping we will get the kits on time!)

Surprise Card from Scraps

I’ve been “cleaning” and “organizing” for months and I came across a sandwich baggie with some pieces of cardstock, a button, Bakers Twine, etc. I must have had an idea when I put this aside but heaven only knows what it was! I looked at all the pieces and started playing around. This is what I came up with, much to my surprise I really like it!

Thanks from scraps

I really didn’t cut the pieces – just punched. The blue banner is Coordinations paper so I have had this for a while. I did use a current stamp for the sentiment.

I carried the little flowers into the inside of the card.

Thanks from scraps 2

This was great fun and it was a good workout for my imagination. I really don’t know what I had originally planned for these pieces but I’m quite satisfied with the end result. 🙂
