Christmas Floating Gate Fold Card and a Guest Stamper

Hello Stampers!

I told you I was starting my Christmas Card making and here’s a special one I came up with using the fold that inspired me by Dawn Griffith. She does such an awesome job of describing and doing a video I will give you the link later in the post.

I’m loving the NEW Wreath Builder Dies.!

As you open the Gate Fold the two Poinsettias pop up and the sentiment is visible.

I LOVE this card but I must warn you it’s a lot of work. I got an order to make 4 of these so I made 8…what a job! Not difficult – just a lot of parts and pieces. 🙂

This card is great and if you don’t want to do the floating pop up just do the gate fold and a nice sentiment and embellishment on the inside.

I’ll give your the link to Dawn Griffith and the products I used then I’ll introduce my Guest Stamper! https://dawnsstampingthoughts.net/2020/04/floating-gate-fold-card-video.html

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Arrange A Wreath, Greatest Part of Christmas (R)

Ink – Real Red

Paper – Real Red, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Garden Green, Old Olive, In Good Taste DSP

Accessories – Wreath Builder Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Layering Squares Dies

My Guest Stamper has been a long time customer and class attendee. Barbara sent me an email recently with photos to show me how she had spent the day. She made 10 cards and used the same concept but changed the layouts. Very Clever!

Here’s just one of her cards.

As I stated, Barbara changed up the shapes and position of the shapes as she created more cards.

It seems that as I tried to sharpen her images they showed up looking a little marred. Sorry about that!

Thanks to Barbara for sharing. It seems we all have a lot more time to create. Please send me photos of your creations by email and I will post them.

I have another Christmas Card made for next week’s post. Until then…Happy Stamping!   Stay Safe!    Donna

Flap Card

Hello Stampers!

Today’s card is a bit different…there is a center flap with the sentiment underneath the flap.

The use of the Ornate Layers Dies on the sides really adds pizzaz. This card is good for using up DSP!

Here’s a close up. You can see I added some flower sequins.

Now we pick up the flap…

Directions for Flap Card:

Base is (Night of Navy) 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″; Whisper White is 4″ x 5 1/4″; different color cardstock is 2 3/8″ x 11″ then fold in half.

Stampin’ Up! Products I used for this card:

Stamp Set – Delightful Day (R)

Ink – Night of Navy

Paper – Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, English Garden DSP (R), Whisper White

Accessories – Ornate Layers Dies, Flower Sequins

This is a quick and easy card to make. I’m thinking it might be great for Christmas Card assembly line cards. Speaking of Christmas Cards, I hope to share one of my ideas next blog post.

Until then…Happy Stamping!     Donna

Chicken Whisperer Card

Hello Stampers!

I may have mentioned that we call our grandson “the chicken whisperer” because his family has 7 chickens and he is in charge of them. He takes his job very seriously and he is the only one who can get a chicken back in the coop if she decides to fly out for a walkabout. He will celebrate his tenth birthday on July 28 so I made him this card.

I’m pretty sure he will love it! The new stamp set “A Grand Kid” is very handy for the grandchildren!

Just a fun card to share with you today!

See you on Friday!  Until then…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Super easy!

I’ve been thinking about getting my Christmas cards done so I designed this one.

I keep buying more new DSP and I have a huge stack of retired paper so you will see me using retired products from time to time.

Quick Update on 3-D Pop Up Card

Hello Stampers!

I have received many requests for instructions on making the 3-D Pop Up Card. I found the fold at this site. Since this British demo did such a great job explaining it I want to share it with you.

https://mitosucrafts.com/2020/06/3d-cube-pop-up-box-card

You can add your own DSP, embellishments and sentiments once you have the fold made.

I’m so happy that so many of you like this card.

Until my next post on Friday…Happy Stamping!   Donna

3-D Pop Up – Ornate Garden

Hello Stampers!

I have another unique card for you today. I saw this on Pinterest or somewhere done by European demos. All the measurements were in metric so I went with it. Actually very easy measurements. The card folds into itself to a 4″ x 4″.

This is another birthday card for a very good friend. 🙂

This may look extremely difficult but it isn’t really. Just getting all the pieces in the correct places takes a bit of fiddling.

This is a front view. Believe it or not it does fold into itself. You can use any sentiment and labels as well as decorations.

A nice close-up without the envelope in the background.

Side view.

Back view. This is where you sign and put your sentiment. Yes, that too lays flat.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Floral Essence, Parcels & Petals

Ink – Terracotta Tile, Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede

Paper – Ornate Garden DSP, Bumble Bee, Old Olive

Accessories – Forever Flourishing Dies, Perennial Flower Punch, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Wink of Stella

One more look straight on.

So, what do you think? Please let me know how you like this very cool Pop Up card. I am having so much fun being creative!

Since demos get to pre-order with new catalogs, I just ordered from our new August – December Mini Catalog. Loving all the new items and some of your favorites are back too. You will be able to view the catalog on August 4th. I’ll let you know when I receive my copies for you to pick up.

You might see some Christmas cards coming up!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping! Take care and Stay safe!    Donna

Guest Stamper – Jacki Nagle

Hello Stampers!

Today I have another card from Guest Stamper Jacki Nagle. Jacki has been very busy organizing her stamping supplies and she has found many items she has decided to put to good use. Her card today does use some Stampin’ Up! products as well as other companies’ products.

Notice that Jacki used DSP and then Vellum on top to give the softened look.

This is her inside sentiment.

One last look. I love the way Jacki photographed her card among the plant and flowers.

Thank you to Jacki for sharing with us. I know you are out there creating cards and I’d love to have you share as my Guest Stamper. Don’t be shy. All I need are some good photos sent to my email address – donnamk47@yahoo.com

Watch for my Friday post. Hint…a 3-D pop up box card.

Until then…Happy Stamping!     Donna

Garden Z-fold

Hello Stampers!  Hope you are all in good health and staying safe.

I was inspired to make today’s card by Bronwyn Eastley. Grace’s Garden with the Garden Gateway Dies are a fantastic combination (it’s on page 86 of the Annual Catalog). I’m crazy about it.

I must admit this card took many hours to create but so worth it. This was made especially for a very dear friend of mine. We’ve known each other since we were 5, we’ve been in each others weddings and moving from Buffalo, NY we both settled in the San Diego area. That’s a real friendship – over 60 years!

Here’s Grace’s Garden:

Here it is closed and ready for the envelope.

Here it is open.

Little bit of a side view.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Grace’s Garden

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Seaside Spray, Perennial Essence DSP

Accessories – Garden Gateway Dies, Stitched Labels Dies, Blends

I love the way this card turned out! If this pandemic lasts much longer I’ll be making a lot of these unique cards!  Hope you enjoyed viewing this card as much as I did making it!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!   Stay Safe!   Donna
