Lovely As A Tree – Double Flip Card

Hello my dear fellow stampers! Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving card using the Double Flip Fold. I’ll also describe the construction. It’s easy!

Lots of little details…like the Versa Mark leaves in the background and the drops of color on the white.

Then you pull the corner of the square and…

As the card opens the corner flips so it is visible on the inside now. Neat, huh!

Here’s a close up of the leaves. I just took a bunch of markers and kept adding color. I REALLY like the way these leaves turned out.

This is a wonderful fold and can be used for everything!

Double Flip Card

Card Base – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

To make fold over – make a tic mark at 1/2″ from fold at top; another along right side at 3 3/4″. Using your Stampin’ Trimmer connect the marks and score

Inside – color card stock (I used Pumpkin Pie on this card) 4 x 5 1/4; neutral color (I used Whisper White) 3 3/4 x 5

Outside – color 3 1/2 x 3 1/2; neutral 3 1/4 x 3 1/4

Banner – color 5 1/2 x 3/4; neutral 2 1/2 x 5/8

I used an old favorite stamp set – Lovely As A Tree. Some have asked why it has been around so long…because it is a “go to” stamp set!

Products used:

Stamp Sets – Lovely As A Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink – Cajun Craze, Versamark

Paper – Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers – Pumpkin Pie, Peekaboo Peach, Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze

Halloween Treat

Hi fellow stampers! Sorry I’ve not posted in a week…been super busy with my mom, daughter and grandchildren. My poor husband has been neglected as well as my Blog. 😦

Today’s card was kind of a mistake…but it turned out fine. I started out making a Double Flip Card but when I was done I realized it couldn’t flip or the words would be sideways. So, since there are no mistakes in card making, I just adhered the flip part down and that was that. It will make more sense when I post the next card that is truly a Double Flip Card. 🙂

I’m really crazy about the new set “Spooky Fun”. There are so many different ways to use the individual stamps. Of course, the Halloween Scenes Thinlits make awesome fences and trees. What a great bundle!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Spooky Fun, Halloween Treat

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Accessories – Halloween Scenes Thinlits, Stampin’ Write Marker-Pumpkin Pie

Hope you enjoyed another Halloween card. Many people do not send Halloween Cards but they are so much fun to create.

Sculpted Pansies

This is the card that I shared at our quarterly gathering of Peggy’s Sweet Stampers today. I demonstrated how to make sculpted flowers and it was great fun. It’s such an easy process but the end result is so elegant.

First I stamped all the flowers and leaves with Staz-on black ink. Next I painted them all with my ink pads and aqua painters. After they dried I fussy cut each one (the flowers have matching punches which can also be used), then spritzed the back of each (one at a time) with the Stampin’ Spritzer. While wet I used sculpting tools – either Heartfelt Creations or McGill (Amazon). These tools include round ends of various sizes to shape the flowers and leaves. Last I turned over to good side and pushed in the centers to make the flowers “pop” out.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere both the pansy to card and petite flowers to pansy. I used glue dots on just the end of the leaves and placed using tweezers to get under the flowers.

I colored the center of the small flower with Daffodil Delight even though I knew I’d cover most of it with a pearl. This technique really brings the flowers to life. They are much prettier in person…the photo just can’t do it justice.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Falling Flowers, Flower Shop, Petite Petals, Birthday Blooms

Ink – Staz-on Black, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzaz, Wild Wasabi, Stampin’ Write markers – Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Wild Wasabi

Paper – Whisper White, Basic Black

Accessories – Pansy Punch, Petite Petals, Project Life Corner, Aqua Painters, Stampin’ Spritzer, Pearl Basic Jewels

This technique makes cards so stunning. You really should try it. The only thing you have to worry about is mailing since it will flatten out if you put it in a regular envelope. I suggest a card box.

My next sculpted flower card will use just the flowers from the stamp set Falling Flowers. I’ll be sure to post so that you can see a different type flower.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Spooky Fun

It’s that time of the year for fall leaves, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. I have always loved this time of year. Growing up in Western New York we certainly knew when the seasons changed and fall was the prettiest. I can still get the feeling living in San Diego because there is a change in the weather (slight) and some trees have leaves that change color and drop.

Here’s a Halloween card to start the season off. I’m waiting for my Paisley bundle to arrive to make some fall and Thanksgiving cards.

Very colorful isn’t it? That Spooky Fun Bundle is great. I chose to use the window from Hearth & Home Thinlits because it is just so perfect for this card.

I love the three little pumpkins but rather than stamping them and putting faces on them I decided to use them to send my greeting.

The inside has a spider and ghosts. My spider got a bit messed up but I think it makes him look spookier. If you don’t have the Spooky Fun Bundle you should take a second look…it is very versatile and so cute.

Products Used:

Stamp Set – Spooky Fun

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede (sponge dauber)

Paper – Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight

Accessories – Elegant Dot Embossing Folder, Hearth & Home Thinlits, Halloween Scenes Thinlits.

More Halloween cards to come. Enjoy your time stamping…it is so relaxing!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Geometric Christmas

Yes, a Christmas card! I was supposed to be designing some fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving cards but this idea came to mind. I really like unique folds and geometric designs and while I was on a “field trip” with some fellow stampers I came across Geo-Dies. Well, that was it…had to have at least one of those dies. It’s a husband and wife company and the designs are so stunning. I’m sure you will be seeing more of these designs in my future cards. All the rest of the products in the cards are Stampin’ Up!.

I actually used a retired Christmas DSP to make the shape but I’ll soon be doing a card using our Gold Foil…let’s see how that turns out.

Since the DSP has two different patterns on each side you get a unique look by interlocking the cut piece. Notice that new Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder on the Real Red paper. The Gold Foil scallop adds a bit of pizzaz to the center.

The inside sentiment was taken from the retired stamp set – Bright and Beautiful. I will probably never part with that set because I love this sentiment.

Isn’t that little bear cute! He somehow never got packed away last year so he has been on display all year. He has received a lot of love from my 2  1/2 year old granddaughter. 🙂

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Wondrous Wreath, Oh, What Fun, Bright and Beautiful (R)

Ink – Old Olive, Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker

Paper – Whisper White, Real Red, Christmas DSP (R)

Accessories – Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder, 1  3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch, 1  3/8″ Circle Punch, Ribbon (R) and Geo-Die GD-3

Hope you enjoyed this card…this is such a fun time of the year to make cards with so many holidays!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Bunch of Blossoms Get Well

Hi fellow stampers! Today I have another Get Well card. I CASE’d this design from my upline, Mary Fish. I loved it the minute I saw it and knew I had to make it.

Bunch of Blossoms Get Well 1

I like the layering and I did change the sentiment. That is what’s so great about CASEing cards.  You may get the sketch from one, color combo from another and add your own sentiment. As you can see…I used the Candy Dots again. Not only am I using them up but I LOVE them. I’ll be using the White Perfect Accents when I’ve used all my Candy Dots.

Bunch of Blossoms Get Well 2

Here’s my inside sentiment. It’s always nice to add some color to the inside when you are using a sentiment.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Bunch of Blossoms, Flourishing Phrases

Ink – Dapper Denim, Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi

Accessories – Blossom Builder Punch, Old Olive Bakers Twine, Soft Sky Candy Dots (R)

I’ve been re-organizing my craft room AGAIN! Miraculously I have combined almost everything into one bookcase – thanks to Jennifer McGuire and her fantastic organization videos. As soon as I’m done, I’ll post photos. Until then…and my next post…Happy Stamping!

Grateful Bunch Flip Card

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a card that I just LOVE! I CASE’d this from a fellow demonstrator, Dawn Griffith. This is just the neatest card. I know I’ll use this format and sketch for various occasions.

Grateful Bunch Flip Card 1

Here’s the front – and I bet you’re asking yourself – what’s so different about this? Well, just flip the center piece up and see…

Grateful Bunch Flip Card 2

Isn’t that unique! I love it! Isn’t that lace trim on the sides just beautiful. Everything came from a fantastic stamp set called Grateful Bunch. The little sentiment came from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Be sure to leave some room on the inside card to hand write a message.

Grateful Bunch Flip Card 3

Just a close up of the inside. What a fun card to make and send.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Grateful Bunch, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink – Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White

Accessories – Blossom Bunch Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Let me know if you like this unusual card. Next time I’ll have one more Get Well card for you using the Bunch of Blossoms Stamp Set.

Until then…Happy Stamping!
