World Card Making Day – Halloween Double Fun Fold

halloween-double-fun-fold-1

Here’s a super fun card for any occasion. I got this idea from a great demo named Dawn Griffith. Of course, I put my own spin on it. This card has a double flip opening as the name implies. This is what it looks like out of the envelope.

Now, let’s open the first flap.

A nice little surprise inside but wait…let’s open the black card.

What fun!

halloween-double-fun-fold-5

I love this technique and I’m sure I will use it over and over again with different themes. I seem to be into flip cards and different folded cards. Now when I do a regular card it seems so plain!

This card is not difficult…here are some simple directions:

Pumpkin Pie CS:  card – 5 1/2″ x 6 1/4″ on the 6 1/4″ side score at 2″;   (2)   3″ x 3 1/2″

Black CS – 5 1/4″ x 8″ score at 4″

Whisper White CS – (2)  2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″;  3 3/4″ x 5″ for inside

Use a 1 1/4″ circle punch to make a mask for the moons. Sponge on the small white pieces starting with Daffodil Delight and going over with Tangerine Tango

Tip:  place the second small piece first then line up the front piece so they match. VERY important…only put adhesive on one side of the front square 🙂

Since the Black card is a bit smaller you just center it onto the Pumpkin Pie card (opening backwards)

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Halloween Treat, Spooky Fun

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie Stampin Write Marker

Paper – Pumpkin Pie, Black, Whisper White

I did make a card today but I’m not ready to share it. I will shortly. I decided I’d finish up with Halloween Cards first.  I have a couple Thanksgiving cards to share then…CHRISTMAS! I love making Christmas cards. I also make a few Hanukkah cards but we don’t have any new sets so I’ll be using my old standby the retired set Jewish Celebrations.

I hope you were able to find some time today to make a card. If you did…please send a photo to me and I will post your card on my blog and choose one lucky stamper to win a nice Stampin’ Up! gift.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Halloween Treat

Hi fellow stampers! Sorry I’ve not posted in a week…been super busy with my mom, daughter and grandchildren. My poor husband has been neglected as well as my Blog. 😦

Today’s card was kind of a mistake…but it turned out fine. I started out making a Double Flip Card but when I was done I realized it couldn’t flip or the words would be sideways. So, since there are no mistakes in card making, I just adhered the flip part down and that was that. It will make more sense when I post the next card that is truly a Double Flip Card. 🙂

I’m really crazy about the new set “Spooky Fun”. There are so many different ways to use the individual stamps. Of course, the Halloween Scenes Thinlits make awesome fences and trees. What a great bundle!

Spooky Fun

It’s that time of the year for fall leaves, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. I have always loved this time of year. Growing up in Western New York we certainly knew when the seasons changed and fall was the prettiest. I can still get the feeling living in San Diego because there is a change in the weather (slight) and some trees have leaves that change color and drop.

Here’s a Halloween card to start the season off. I’m waiting for my Paisley bundle to arrive to make some fall and Thanksgiving cards.

Very colorful isn’t it? That Spooky Fun Bundle is great. I chose to use the window from Hearth & Home Thinlits because it is just so perfect for this card.

spooky-halloween-1

I love the three little pumpkins but rather than stamping them and putting faces on them I decided to use them to send my greeting.

spooky-halloween-3

The inside has a spider and ghosts. My spider got a bit messed up but I think it makes him look spookier. If you don’t have the Spooky Fun Bundle you should take a second look…it is very versatile and so cute.

Products Used:

Stamp Set – Spooky Fun

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Suede (sponge dauber)

Paper – Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight

Accessories – Elegant Dot Embossing Folder, Hearth & Home Thinlits, Halloween Scenes Thinlits.

More Halloween cards to come. Enjoy your time stamping…it is so relaxing!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Happy Scenes Halloween

Happy Scenes Halloween 1

This is one of the cards we made in my September classes. I really like the new stamp set Happy Scenes and the fact that it is bundled with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Die.  It is so versatile – fall, Halloween, Christmas and winter.

I used Early Espresso ink, Tangerine Tango cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock and Pretty Petals DSP Stack. The little label was cut out using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits and embellished with Candy Dots.

I am very pleased with how this card turned out – you will see more cards using this wonderful bundle.

Happy Stamping!

Trick or Treat Pillow Box

I am really loving the new Pillow Box Die…I can see so many uses for them. Halloween is a perfect time!

Trick or Treat Pillow Box

I used Very Vanilla Cardstock and stamped those cute spiders from A Little Something SS. Punched out a circle using the 2 3/8″ Scallop Punch in Tangerine Tango. I used A Little Something SS again for the sentiment, punched it out with the Label Bracket Punch and sponged the edges of both with Tip Top Taupe. You can fill this with Halloween candy or little notecards or whatever…hmmm, maybe even jewelry!

If you haven’t ordered the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Die yet…you really need to consider it. The stamp set “A Little Something” is also a must! I think I’ll be making these for my grandchildren’s teachers for Halloween.

Happy Stamping!

Pumpkin Trick or Treat

Here is the third card we will make in our September card class. I love these little pumpkins from the Fall Fest Stamp Set in the new Holiday Catalog. The ghost is pretty cute too! You’ll see him on my treat packages in my next blog post.

Pumpkin Trick or Treat

This card is black with Pumpkin Pie DSP from the Brights Collection. Once again…pretty clean and simple but it can be made into a WOW card with some extra embellishments. You might try using Stampin’ Markers to make the stems green and the pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie. Maybe some more Linen Thread looped behind the Apothecary framelit. I’m sure you can think of many other ways to make this card “pop”.

By the way…I fussy cut the pumpkins BUT there is a set of framelits to do the job for you…Fun Fall Framelits Dies 135856 in the Holiday Catalog. You can save 15% by ordering the Bundle and get both the stamp set and the framelits 137628.

My last order was kind of rushed and I forgot several items. My excuse is that we are moving on the 26th to a house a little more than half the size of our current home and packing is a nightmare! How do you decide what NOT to take! 🙂

My posts may become a bit more sporadic as we approach the “big day”.  My plan is to unpack my studio FIRST so that when I need down time from unpacking and arranging I can retreat to my own space.  I’ll let you know how that works!

The only retired stamp set I used on this one was the Tags 4 You and only the words inside the stamp. I used Old Olive marker for the words.

Since this card is black I put another Apothecary shape inside in Whisper White for the message.

Pumpkin Trick or Treat shade

This is the kind of card you can make in mass if you want to make them for a child’s classmates or your co-workers. In my next post I’ll show you the little treat packages I’m making for two of my grandchildren to give to their classmates in First Grade and Pre-School.

Stampin’ Up! products used:

Stamp Sets:  Fall Fest 135194; Retired Tags 4 You 131823

Cardstock:  Basic Black 121045; Brights Designer Series Paper Stack 130134; Whisper White 100730

Ink:  Pumpkin Pie 126945; Stampin’ Write Markers (Brights) 131259

Accessories:  Apothecary Accents Framelits 127003; Linen Thread 104199

If you like my card then leave me a message.  Also…I ALWAYS invite you to send me photos of your creations. With your permission I’ll post them on my blog.

Happy Stamping!  See you soon with a couple little treat packages.

Peek-a-Boo Halloween

As promised…here is the second Halloween card for our September Class. I REALLY like this one. I’m sure my grandchildren will LOVE it.

Peek a boo Halloween sun

Here it is in full sunlight. I’ve been experimenting with outdoor lighting. I’ll show you the shade shot next. Let me know which you prefer.

As I mentioned in my previous blog post I used retired items. I can’t help it…sometimes the stamp sets are just so perfect and you really like them so you just can’t part with them. I used Tags 4 You 131823 and Halloween Hello 131721 Stamp Sets as well as Tangerine Tango ribbon 130812 which is very similar to the new 3/8″ Stitched Satin in Tangelo Twist 133669.

Peek a boo Halloween shade

This shot was taken in the shade. I used a Tangerine Tango card with the layer of black. I punched out the Hexagon shapes in the black so that the Tangerine Tango would show through. I used Snail adhesive to glue down the black but now wish I had used Stampin’ Dimensionals so that the black would stand out (we will in class). I did pop up the Decorative Label and Label Bracket pieces.

Peek a boo Halloween, Inside

Here’s a peek at the inside. I used the Labels Collection Framelits so that there would be a nice area to write a message.

I’m thinking full sunlight is too much…I like the shade shots better. What do you think?

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products I used:

Stamp Sets:  Four Frames 123442; Retired Tags 4 You 131823; Retired Halloween Hello 131721

Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango 111349; Basic Black 121045; Whisper White 100730

Ink:  Tangerine Tango 126946; Memento 132708

Accessories:  Hexagon Punch 130919; Decorative Label Punch 120907; Label Bracket 132153; Labels Collection Framelits 125598; Retired Tangerine Tango Ribbon 130812

I hope you like this card as much as I do.  Remember…you can WOW this card with embellishments. I’ve shown you a pretty basic card so that you can put your creativity to work and make this design your own. Remember…I’d be delighted if you decided to CASE this card. I only ask that you mention my name as your original inspiration. Also…keep in mind that just because I used Retired stamp sets doesn’t mean there isn’t something different you can use…such as Freaky Friends 135161 or Tee-Hee-Hee 135125 from the Holiday Catalog.

Speaking of the Holiday Catalog…if you don’t have one yet…just contact me so that I can get one to you. It is full of wonderful new products!

I have one more card to share with you and a couple little treat packages – so keep following my blog.

Happy Stamping!

Halloween Hello

Here’s the first of our cards for the September Card Class. Our focus is Halloween…surprise! If you have children or grandchildren you probably send Halloween cards. I have 3 grandchildren and a 91 year old mom who LOVE to get cards for any occasion.

Halloween Hello 2

When I came up with this design I just pulled out all my Halloweeny type stuff so I’m sorry but I did use some retired items like the Halloween Hello phrase and some of the Washi Tape. I forgot to order the Ghoulish Greetings Stamp Set in time for this class 😦

It’s difficult to see but I actually taped down my Washi Tape first then ran the Whisper White through the Big Shot with the Chevron EF.

Halloween Hello 1

I popped up both the tag and the pumpkin with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The difference in the two photos is one was taken in full sunlight and the other in the shade.

I added a few veins on the little leaves to make them stand out a bit.

Here are the Stampin’ Up! products I used:

Stamps:  Fall Fest 135194

Cardstock:  Wild Wasabi 108641; Tangerine Tango 111349; Whisper White 100730

Ink:  Wild Wasabi 108641; Garden Green 126973; Tangerine Tango 126946; Memento 132708

Accessories:  Epic Day Washi Tape 131269; Chevron Embossing Folder 127749; Scalloped Tag Topper 133324; Linen Thread 104199

Hope you like my first Halloween creation and feel free to CASE it. (CASE = Copy And Share Everything)

I love hearing from you so please feel free to leave a comment (positive of course) 🙂

Happy Stamping!

Trick or Treat Favors

Trick or Treat Favors 2

Just finished making 30 of these cute Halloween treats for my grandaughter’s K class.  Now I need to make another 30 for my best friends luncheon on Friday.  🙂  Thanks to Deb Simonis for the idea.

Trick or Treat Favors 1

Very quick and easy!  8 1/2″ by 2 3/4″ cardstock or DSP.  Score at 3 3/4″, 4 3/4″ and decorate as you like.

Staple at top and then cover with Decorative Label folded in half.

Pumpkin Pie Cardstock (105117), Basic Black Cardstock (121045), Whisper White Cardstock (100730), Tags 4 You Stamp set (Holiday Catalog 131823), Halloween Hello Stamp set (Holiday Catalog 131721), 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch (118874), Decorative Label Punch (120907), and Label Bracket Punch (Holiday Catalog 321153).  *Special Note…use StazOn Jet Black Ink (101406) so you won’t have smudging on the Whisper White.  I used a Glue Dot (103683) to keep the candy in place.

Have fun and enjoy this wonderful season!
