Tulip Greetings

Hello my dear stampers! Today’s card is a bit different and it’s actually made with the Bird Builder Punch which is retired. ūüė¶ Don’t forget…if you want a retired item, contact me…maybe, just maybe I can find someone selling it.

To make the tulips I used the wing of the Bird Builder Punch. I cut long strips of Cucumber Crush to make the stems. The actual card base, some of the tulips and the ribbon are all in Daffodil Delight.

This sentiment is a sneak peek at a new die for 2017-2018. I LOVE it!!!

You may notice a little sparkle to the tulips…I brushed the accents with Clear Wink of Stella. It almost makes the tulips look like they have a bit of dew on them.

Here’s a close up of that awesome new die! Can you imagine how stunning it would be if you built it up with several layers using another new product…Multi purpose Adhesive Sheets.

We made this card in a class and it was very well received. In fact, one of the gals wanted the Bird Builder Punch to make more of this style card and I found one for her at a very reasonable price.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Paper – Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Cucumber Crush

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers (Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Pink Pirouette), Bird Builder Punch, 1/2″ Seam Binding in Daffodil Delight, Clear Wink of Stella

I hope you like this card and will try one for yourself. Don’t forget…send me a photo of your creations via email and you just might be my guest stamper!

Take care and until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Timeless Love

Hello Stampers. Hope this greeting finds you all in good health. This seems to be the season for anniversaries so today I have a very pretty anniversary card for you. (My husband and I are celebrating our 48th tomorrow May 9.)

I’m very happy with the way this card turned out. The doily adds the wedding like touch therefore this card could be used as a wedding card too. Actually…for almost any occasion if you just change the sentiment. I like to use color on color for backgrounds and the word “congratulations” worked out great. The circle is popped up. The vellum is not plain…it has a little flower pattern to it (retired).

This is a great sentiment from the Timeless Love Stamp Set. This whole card was done using only that set. Unfortunately it will be retiring on June 1. (If you like it, get it now!)

That little sprig of flowers colored with markers really adds to the inside as well as the envelope.

The pearls look as though they are holding the banner in place and also add a little bling.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Timeless Love

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Soft Sky

Paper  РSoft Sky, Whisper White

Accessories – Doily, Layering Circles Framelits, Vellum, Pearls, Stampin’ Write Markers (Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Soft Sky)

This is a lovely stamp set and it makes very pretty cards. Hope you enjoyed seeing my creation.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Circle of Spring Greetings

Hello my fellow stampers! Hope you all had a good week. Today I have a visit back to the Wonderful Wreath Thinlits and the Circle of Spring Stamp Set. **Note – sorry for the yellowish tint on my photos. I took these outside but in the shade of the house and I’m afraid the beige stucco of the house cast this tint on my photos.

The Flirty Flamingo cardstock is so nice and springy along with the little Pink Pirouette and Tempting Turquoise flowers. The Daffodil Delight centers add another touch of spring. I used Wild Wasabi for the leaves and Old Olive ribbon – they blend together well.

The background was done using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder.

After making a couple more of these, I decided to sponge the wreath with a little Wild Wasabi. I like the white on white but decided the wreath needed to stand out a bit more.

I haven’t finished a card with this sponged wreath yet but I think it will stand out better. Where you see the blank flowers is where the cut out Tempting Turquoise flowers will be “popped up”. I purposely had darker spots rather than all the same color green. Any comments?

Stampin’ Up! products used:

Stamp Sets – Circle of Spring, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Write Markers (Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi)

Paper – Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo

Accessories – Brick Wall Embossing Folder, Wonderful Wreath Thinlits, Old Olive Striped Organdy Ribbon (R)

Now that I look at the white wreath on white…I’m not sure about the sponging. ūüôā I need to complete a card with the green sponging and then I’ll make a final decision before I complete the rest of the cards. I had quite a few left over from my March classes so I’m finishing them with various greetings – Mother’s Day, Birthday, etc. for my upcoming Craft Fair. This is proof that the more we look at a card the more ideas we can come up with.

Take care, stay healthy and have a great weekend! Until Monday…Happy Stamping!¬†¬† Donna

Lovely As A Tree – Double Flip Card

Hello my dear fellow stampers! Today I am sharing a Thanksgiving card using the Double Flip Fold. I’ll also describe the construction. It’s easy!

thanksgiving-double-fold-1

Lots of little details…like the Versa Mark leaves in the background and the¬†drops of color on the white.

Then you pull the corner of the square and…

As the card opens the corner flips so it is visible on the inside now. Neat, huh!

thanksgiving-double-flip-2

Here’s a close up of the leaves. I just took a bunch of markers and kept adding color. I REALLY like the way these leaves turned out.

This is a wonderful fold and can be used for everything!

Double Flip Card

Card Base – 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4

To make fold over – make a tic mark at 1/2″ from fold at top; another along right side at 3 3/4″. Using your Stampin’ Trimmer connect the marks and score

Inside Рcolor card stock (I used Pumpkin Pie on this card) 4 x 5 1/4; neutral color (I used Whisper White) 3 3/4 x 5

Outside – color 3 1/2 x 3 1/2; neutral 3 1/4 x 3 1/4

Banner Рcolor 5 1/2 x 3/4; neutral 2 1/2 x 5/8

I used an old favorite stamp set – Lovely As A Tree. Some have asked why it has been around so long…because it is a “go to” stamp set!

Get Well Soup

Hi my stamping friends!

You know how we hate to make Get Well and Sympathy cards but they are necessary…so…here’s a very cute and homey type Get Well card.

Get Well Soup 1

I think this stamp, Get Well Soup, is just so cute. I didn’t like the plain bowl so I stamped and cut out that portion from a piece of DSP. Then punched out the heart in black, added the soup (Crushed Curry) and the rim of the bowl (Calypso Coral) and there you have it!

I really like the Calypso Coral with the Black and Very Vanilla.¬† You know how crazy I am about the Curvy Corner Trio Punch…had to use it! (Don’t know why they retired it but maybe if we all beg…they will bring it back!)

There is a nice Get Well sentiment inside from Thoughts & Prayers SS.

Get Well Soup 2

As you can see, I carried the punched corners to the inside.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Get Well Soup, Thoughts & Prayers

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Write Markers in Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry

Paper – Calypso Coral, Black, Very Vanilla, Pretty Petals DSP (R)

Accessories – Itty Bitty Accents Punch (R), Curvy Corner Trio Punch (R)

This is a quick and easy card so give it a try. Be sure to check out the next post…a REALLY cool card!

Happy Stamping!

Easter Lamb

It’s that time again when we¬†celebrate¬†Easter. I just had to use this adorable little lamb from the Occasions Catalog.

Easter Lamb 1

I made this card first and since then several others in different color combinations. I made a couple Easter cards in Blushing Bride and Perfect Plum – they came out darling. Then I used that same combo without the “Happy Easter” and made them into baby cards. Be creative with your stamp sets – don’t get stuck on one theme.

Easter Lamb 2

Of course, we always need to decorate the envelope. Wink of Stella Clear was brushed on the lamb to give it a bit of sparkle. The Cajun Craze marker was used for the “hand stitching” around the frame with a bit of sponging also in Cajun Craze. I actually cut the ribbon in half to make it thinner so as not to overwhelm the lamb.¬†

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Easter Lamb, Botanical Blooms on the envelope

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi, Hello Honey

Paper – Whisper White, Cajun Craze, Botanical Gardens DSP

Accessories – Deco Labels Framelits, Stampin’ Write Markers in Wild Wasabi, Cajun Craze & Pink Pirouette, Clear Wink of Stella, Hello Honey Satin Stitched Ribbon

This lamb is just so cute and I’ve had such fun using it on different cards. Please send photos¬†your Easter creations and I’ll post them here on my blog.
