Peek A Boo Birthday Card

Hello Stampers!  Today I’m going to show you a really cool card. I’m calling it the Peek A Boo Card but it is also called the Telescoping Card. I’ve had a few very short posts but I’m going to warn you – this will be a long one.

Looks just like a Gate Fold…right? Watch…

Hmm…what’s going on?

A birthday cake is sneaking out.

Wow! Isn’t that really cool? It’s such a neat surprise.

A fellow demo in my upline group showed us this but in a larger size. I scaled it down to a regular 4 1/4″ x  5 1/2″ card. Really had to use my math skills on that!

Here’s all the directions. Hope you can follow them.

Telescoping Card

  4. Adhere the two front pieces of DSP

  5. Stamp Happy Birthday on one piece of Whisper White and the birthday cake on the second piece

  6. Using the smaller square die from Stitched Shapes to cut out the Happy Birthday and the larger square to cut out the square from the piece you saved

  8. Adhere the white square to back of card lining up with window

  9. Adhere the window panel with foam tape on top and bottom

Adhere the flaps to the front covers at score lines lining up with window using Tear and Tape

  11. Adhere the two squares to ONE SIDE front

Donna Kopenski 2017

Here’s the template:

Start with a rectangle measuring 3 1/4 x 3 3/8 and cut a V in the center of one 3 1/4 side 1 3/8 in.

I taught this card to my Stamp Club and with care they all got it following written and some verbal directions.

Hope you enjoyed this card. Please try to make it. Once you’ve done it…you see so many possibilities. It’s such a fun card!

My next posts will be from my May class featuring Congrats cards. The neat thing about them is they can be used for so many different Congratulation events.

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!

Easter Message

Happy Friday, stampers! End of another week that went by all too fast. I did get in a lot of card making this week. I’m busy working on my swaps for the Pals swap at the Stampin’ Up! On Stage here in San Diego on April 8th. Three of us San Diego Pals are hosting a Make & Take with fellow Pals on Friday so I’m also prepping kits for that event. Busy, busy!

Hope you had a great week and did find time to stamp, scrap or make cards. Today I’m using the new set Easter Message for a religious Easter Card. This set is just lovely.

I only used the one stamp set to make this card. It’s a keeper for sure.

This photo gives you a better look at the embossing on the Soft Sky cardstock.

Simple message inside…also from Easter Message Stamp Set along with the palm frons. The blooming of our flowers helps make this a spring card.

Stampin’ Up! products used:

Stamp Set – Easter Message

Ink – Early Espresso, Pear Pizzaz

Paper – Whisper White, Soft Sky, Early Espresso

Accessories – Stampin’ Write Markers, Layered Oval Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Sparkle Embossing Folder

I wish each of you a wonderful weekend and hope you find some time to stamp and make cards. Keep in mind I’d love to share your creations on my blog so send photos via my email and I’ll showcase your work and you as my guest stamper.

Flourishing Half Fold Card

Hello Stampers! Here we are at Friday already. Today I have a Half Fold card for you. It’s quite easy but makes such a cute card.

It looks like a normal card except for that horizontal “line” in the middle of the card.

You only open half of the card. It can stand up for the recipient to display.

I took an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock and cut it at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. Turned it sideways, starting from the top of the fold cut down 2 1/8″. I then cut across the 5 1/2″ side to remove the top portion. I then added some DSP to each visible piece. I used Layering Squares Framelits to make the Rich Razzleberry square with the flower from Flourishing Phrases stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White then cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. The large pearl adds a little pizzaz.

Then I decided to try some retired DSP…

Same idea but a different center piece and moved to the right a bit.

A very soft subtle card…might be good for a sympathy card. There is enough room on the front where I can put a banner or label.  Three Metallic Enamel Shapes add a bit of bling.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used (for main card not the blue one):

Stamp Set – Flourishing Phrases

Ink – Rich Razzleberry

Paper – Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Blooms and Bliss DSP

Accessories – Layering Squares Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Metallic Enamel Shapes

Try this card out. It’s quite simple but is a bit unusual. These are great cards to make in mass.

Have a great weekend! I’ll be back on Monday with another Easter Card.

Happy Stamping!

Donna

Lovely Valentine

Here’s another great design for Valentine’s Day. I was inspired by Juana Ambida.

lovely-valentine-1

I love that this card uses the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit from last year’s Occasions Catalog and was held over in the Annual Catalog. This is one great die set. You will also recognize that I used the Love Notes Framelits again.

lovely-valentine-2

Since you need to stamp the little hearts on the side AFTER you cut them…it’s a bit difficult to hit the middle of every heart (as you can see). Don’t know exactly what happened with the bottom three hearts! Maybe it was late and my vision was off. Ha,ha!

The inside…

Products Used:

Stamp Set – Sealed With Love

Ink – Real Red

Paper – Whisper White, Real Red, Sending Love DSP

Accessories – Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Have fun with all these great Framelits and Thinlits. They really add pizzazz to any card.

Hope you are enjoying these Valentine Cards – one more to come on Friday. Then I’ll need to create some Birthday cards for my February classes. We all need Birthday cards!

Just a reminder – I use my blog strictly to show my creations. If you want more information about sales, promotions, etc., then you need to be sure you are on my mailing list for my Crafty Cardmaker Weekly Newsletter. Just send me an email (donnamk47@yahoo.com) and tell me to add your name to the mailing list.

Until Friday…Happy Stamping!
