Twist Gate Fold – Get Well

Hello Stampers,

With the summer vacation and extreme heat we are experiencing it’s been difficult to sit down and prep my posts. But, today here’s a card that is very unique. Warning…it looks smaller than the normal size card but the way it’s made makes it just fit into an envelope.

You can see that the diagonal is just long enough to fit into an envelope. This card is great for using up all that leftover DSP you have sitting around. Just find two complimentary designs and you are all set.

Here it is opening up to find a lovely greeting inside.

I got the idea for this fold from Julie Davison.

It looks complicated but it isn’t really. I used this fold for cards in one of my classes and it was a hit.

Heartfelt Blooms Birthday

Hello Fellow Stampers! I’m a little late with my Friday post but nevertheless…here it is. I got this idea from JoAnne Hewins. Sometimes we just can’t do better than what someone else has created. In stamping we firmly believe in Copy And Share Everything (CASE)! Of course, I added my own touch.

I stamped the beautiful image in Crumb Cake. I tried black but it was just too dark. Then I colored in with our new Stampin’ Blends.

I also stamped the image onto the envelope. This is a fantastic stamp and it’s FREE with a $50 purchase until March 31st! All the texture is already built into the stamp.

I added a piece of Pink Pirouette on the back (inside) of the front to cover up the ribbon ends and the Stampin’ Blends color that went through.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Hope you enjoyed seeing this lovely card and will really consider getting this set – Heartfelt Blooms – as a FREE gift with a $50 order.

Happy Stamping until my next post!    Donna

Alcohol Technique in Blue

Hello dear stampers…today I have a card with a new technique to me.  A fellow demo, Robin Daus, demonstrated it for us at one of our team meetings. I love it! Some of you may already have seen the alcohol background technique but here’s my version.

I used Night of Navy and Soft Sky re-inkers.

Sorry about the poor quality – it was a rainy day and I guess I didn’t focus well. Couldn’t redo it since I’d already sent the card. Oh dear!

Here’s how easy it is to do this and every time you do it…the result is different!

Be sure to use Glossy White Paper

1.  Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.

2.  Take two complimentary colors (re-inkers) and put 4 drops (or less if really dark) of the darker color and 5 drops of the lighter color.

3.  Bounce the cotton ball randomly around the glossy white paper close together.

4.  Use an old t-shirt to blot the excess or let dry then shine it a bit.

Tip…use the same cotton ball again and see how different the pattern is.

Stamp Sets – Thankful Thoughts, Label Me Pretty

Ink – Night of Navy, Re-Inkers – Night of Navy & Soft Sky
