Berry Burst Pocket Card

Hello Stampers.

I have a card with our new In Color and DSP.  I’m also playing the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  For the row I chose in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge I needed to use Pearls, Die Cuts and Butterflies.

Here is this week’s Challenge…give it a try it’s so much fun because you have so much freedom to create.

If you’d like to play…just go to tictactoechallenge.com

You know how I like to make different folds, etc. well…here’s a cute little pocket card that is very easy to make.

I am loving this Fresh Florals DSP! The Flourish Thinlits have so much to offer.  Here I used the border and the larger flower. That cute little cluster of butterflies was from the Timeless Tags Thinlits (now retired). That one is a keeper for me.

Notice how I used the Fresh Florals DSP to match on the envelope flap. Adding a stamp or covering the flap of the envelope really makes your card special from the minute the recipient gets it.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Paper – Berry Burst, Whisper White, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Flourish Thinlits, Timeless Tags Thinlits (R), Jewels Basic Pearls, Tear and Tape, Corner Round Punch (R)

See, I told you it was easy and you don’t need many items to make it.

There are no special directions…I just made a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card,  folded down the top right corner (you could do a smaller fold if you’d like more area below to decorate), cut the DSP to match the folded portion and decorated. I did make the inside card 4″ x 5 1/4″ due to the Tear and Tape used to make the pocket. I preferred the rounded corners on the insert…looks softer.

This is a card you MUST try. Decorate as you like and have fun.

In the meantime…Happy Stamping!   Donna

Timeless Tags – Easter

Happy Monday, Stampers!  Hope you had a fantastic weekend. We did! Our Marine son in law came home yesterday after being in Okinawa for a whole year! He and our daughter surprised their three children (they thought he’d be home on Tuesday). My husband and I had the children while our daughter went to a “meeting” and then we met her (and daddy) at a Mexican restaurant (his favorite). The oldest, started crying the minute she saw him (eight years old), the middle son (six years old) just stared at him and the three year old kept yelling “daddy, daddy, daddy”.  It was the best! We all had a wonderful dinner and we are all so happy he is home. The poor guy had been up for two days and with the time change he was dead on his feet. He will need a week to adjust!

We’re so happy he will be here for Easter. So, today I have a VERY quick and easy Easter card for you.

The Wisteria Wonder card is embossed with Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. The glimmer is from the Sale-A-Bration FREE Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer pack and Silver Glimmer Washi tape (retired).

The oval is cut from the Timeless Tags Thinlits.  I think I’ll get a lot of use out of that set!  The tiny message is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (another great set).

The inside says it all…

The sentiment is from a retired set Blessed Easter and the lilies are from Easter Message (in the Occasions Catalog). A touch of quick color and the flowers pop.

As you can see, Spring flowers are blooming here in San Diego.  It’s wonderful!  Makes me want to stamp lots of flower cards!

Stampin’ Up! products used:

Stamp Sets – Easter Message, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Blessed Easter (R)

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Write Markers

Paper – Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer

Accessories – Silver Glimmer Washi Tape (R), Timeless Tags Thinlits, Project Life Corner Rounder, Elegant Dots Embossing Folder

This card is basic but think about adding a doily and maybe pop up a little banner with the Happy Easter, etc. You can be creative and make this card your own.

This is another one of the six cards I designed for my March classes. Participants had the choice of making one of each design or up to two of any designs for a total of six cards. I tried something a bit different. Attendees really liked it. I’ll think about this some more…it was a ton of work. 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful week and I’ll be back on Friday with another Easter card.

Until Friday…Happy Stamping!

Timeless Tags – Part 2

Hello my fellow stampers! Hope this post finds you all in good health!

I promised you I’d work on my design using Timeless Tags Thinlits. Well…here it is.

I used the same design (sort of ) but added embossing on the background Pink Pirouette, then a strip of white glitter Washi Tape (from the Holiday Catalog) and made a Melon Mambo flower this time.

You can see the embossing better on this one.

This one is a birthday card for my very close cousin who has a birthday coming up in April. The flowers also have Wink of Stella on them. I love this new Birthday greeting, Stylized Birthday.

This photo shows the Wink of Stella on the cover flower. In person it really looks good. You can’t really tell but the flower is popped up with dimensionals.

This shot shows the center flower popped a bit.  I am really happy with the way this card turned out.  I think I’ll be using this thinlit set quite a bit.

So you see that every time you make a card with the same design you can add and keep getting different and often times better cards. Don’t think because you’ve used a stamp or die one way that is the only way to use it…keep experimenting and be creative!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend. I’ll be back on Monday with another card so until then…Happy Stamping!

Easter Daisy

Hello Stampers! Hope you all had a great weekend. Did you do any stamping? When you create your cards you should send a good photo via email to me and I’ll post them on my blog with you as my guest stamper. A couple stampers have done this, so give it a try. We all like to see other stampers cards. We each have our own style so it’s nice when you get to see a variety of styles.

I have discovered that I love the Timeless Tags Thinlits! They are really so versatile. Here’s an Easter card I played around with.

I often like to show you my first attempt at a card and then tell you how I might change it. Creativity is a process! I LOVE the thinlit! To make this flower come alive I had to die cut each color and then carefully glue each little piece in it’s proper place. This is too time consuming to do in a class but well worth the effort.

Here’s the inside of the card. I used Delicate Details (FREE SAB item) and the retired Easter Blessings for the Occasions 2013 catalog. I will never part with this stamp! It is the perfect size, font and sentiment!

So, this is what I think I would change. First I’d emboss the whole front of the card – with either Sparkle or Lovely Lace Embossing Folders. I think the banner down the middle overpowers the card so I think I’d do a stitched shape…maybe even a square. That bow has to go…a different ribbon or even Baker’s Twine. I’ll try to do another today in a different color combo and have it ready for my Friday post.
