Flourishing Love

Hello Stampers! I think today’s card is quite elegant and simple. It would make a great Anniversary or Wedding card. Mine is for a Wedding.

It’s simple but makes a statement. I used the Springtime Foils (a FREE gift from out Sale-A-Bration promotion) for my background and used our Foam Adhesive Strips to pop up the whole piece. It looks amazing in person.

This is my inside sentiment from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set. I thought the little Flourish die would carry the front over and it added to the elegance of the card.

I cut out the word love using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and popped up the word with Dimensionals. The Silver Foil really makes the word pop.

Brusho Congrats

Hello Stampers!  Today I’m showing you what I have done with our new Brusho Color Crystals. I’m showing two different techniques but there are so many more things you can do with these great color crystals.

Let’s start with the background. This is regular Whisper White cardstock. I left it dry and sprinkled the Prussian Blue. I then used our Stampin’ Spritzer on an angle and just sprayed. The force of the spray made the color move and of course the water made the color bleed.  I was delighted with the results because each one looks like another flower. I let it completely dry – it may curl a bit but if you use adhesive on all four edges the cardstock will lay flat.

To make the central flowers I used Watercolor Paper. I first stamped the image (from Remarkable You) with Versa Mark then used White Embossing Powder and set it with our Heat Tool. Next I used our Aqua Painters and dropped water onto the flower. While the water was still bubbled, I sprinkled the yellow (added a touch of orange and Brilliant Red). Don’t worry about going over the edges since you will cut the flower out. Then I left them to completely dry. If you are in a hurry to use them then use your Heat Tool to dry. As they dry you will see some awesome color combinations appear.

Once the flowers are completely dry cut them out around the outer edges of the white embossing. The flowers are “popped up” with Stampin’ Dimensionals and placed onto the background.

Next I used the Sunshine Wishes Framelits and cut out the Congrats on Silver Foil paper. I also popped the word up.  I added some leaves from the Leaf Punch but I think I might omit the leaves on a future card and just let the flowers stand alone.

I’m so pleased with how this card turned out. The Brusho Crystals can be used like watercolors or you could make a wash for a background with them. The key is to experiment.

Tip…be very careful with the Moss Green – it can look muddy if you use too much.

Tip…don’t take the whole lid off each container of Brusho. Instead use a tack and punch one hole in the cap. When not in use the tack can be placed into the hole so that you won’t have spills of crystals. I also found that if the hole seems to clog up just tap the container on the bottom and the flow of the sprinkle will work.

Tip…be sure to cover your work area…these colors are VERY powerful and can stain any surface if left.

Congrats in Gold

Hello Stampers! Sometimes we see a card someone has made and you just want to make it too. We call this CASE (Copy And Share Everything).  My upline, Mary Fish, made this and I just love the simplicity so I had to copy it. We actually made this in one of my classes because it is just so elegant and subtle.

This card was made with Very Vanilla, Gold Foil, doily, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Layering Circles Framelits.  I’m thinking I might use the Vanilla side of the doily and maybe do some sponging with Crumb Cake to make it stand out more. Mary used sequins but since I no more gold sequins left I just used a hole punch to make my little gold dots. Notice the second layer of Very Vanilla is popped up.

I’m also thinking a gold doily or one from our new die set Eastern Medallions. Check it out.

This time I changed the orientation of the card, put the circle punch out in the middle and used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits for the center. I actually used three dies together.

I really like this simple and clean card.  It’s so great to start with one idea and then let the creative juices go.

Until my next post…try this one out and Happy Stamping!
