Friend Flip Fold Card

Hi Stampers.

Since today is the Fourth of July I’d like to wish you all a Happy Fourth! Shock…I do not have a red, white and blue card for you. 🙂 Instead, I have a little different twist on a greeting card. Got the inspiration from Dawn Griffith. She has so many great ideas so “why invent the wheel”!

Instead of the normal card this one has a single piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then you build from there.

I used the new In Color – Fresh Fig and the Fresh Florals DSP. Those new In Colors are great.

The Blushing Bride is adhered to the Fresh Fig and then there is a small fold in the DSP which adheres over the Blushing Bride. Whisper White is then centered with the back of the DSP onto the Blushing Bride. It’s quite different and I do like unique folds and cards.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Set – Bunch of Blossoms

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Fresh Fig, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Fresh Florals DSP

Accessories – Laying Circles Framelits, White Satin Ribbon (R), 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, 2″ Circle Punch

This is such a fun card to make and I can see it made with all the new In Colors. It would make a great gift set of Thank You cards in a cute little box!  Hmm…just might do that!

Here are the measurements I used:

Fresh Fig – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″;  Blushing Bride – 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″;  Whisper White – 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″;  DSP – 3 1/4″ x 6″, score on the 3 1/4″ side at

5 9/16″.

I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White and then punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. Punch out a 1 3/4″ circle from Fresh Fig, and a 2″ circle from Silver Glimmer. Glue them together. (Might want to use your Fast Fuse especially on the Glimmer paper.)     Using the 2 1/8″ Circle Framelit cut out a circle in the DSP, then use that die and the 2 1/2″ Scallop die together to make the frame. Glue it together and add the ribbon and you’ve got an awesome card.

Give this card a try and send me a photo…I’ll highlight you as my guest stamper!

Christmas Gift Card Holders

Happy Monday, Stampers! Today I will show you just a few really neat gift card holders. The first one isn’t so Christmas like but it’s for my friend who loves yellow.

This card and the next two were made using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits. This is another one of those super handy die sets that you must have. You may notice that I also used the new Stitched Framelits. Love those! I forgot to mention that I also used them on some of my gift tags on Friday.

I used This Christmas Specialty DSP on this one. Love the music notes! I also used the Stitched Framelits with Oh, What Fun Stamp Set.

Again I used This Christmas Specialty DSP and then Cherry Cobbler Cardstock for the poinsettia. The flower was made with the Festive Flower Builder Punch. That is another MUST HAVE punch. I used Gold Glimmer Paper for the center.

This card holder is a bit different – here it is on the front…

Now open it up…

Really cool, huh! Once again I used that wonderful Candy Cane Lane DSP with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set. Some bright Silver Glimmer Paper stars to add to the falling snow. 🙂

Directions for Gift Card Holder:

Cut paper 4 1/4″ x 11″;  Score at 3″, 5 1/2″, 8″;  Do Not fold on score lines yet!  Using your Stampin’ Trimmer cut 3/8″ from top of center score line (that would be the 5 1/2″ line) to 3/8″ from bottom of that line. Now fold on your score lines so that the slit score is in the center. Using Tear and Tape adhere the two center pieces – careful to put the tape only on the edges and not the slit side. (Ha, ha…you laugh!) Use a 1″ circle punch to make a place to pull the gift card out (see photo). Now you are ready to decorate to your hearts content!

You can tie the booklet together (as shown) or use a belly band and incorporate it into your design. We tried both Baker’s Twine and ribbon. I think I’d rather incorporate a belly band next time.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these gift card creations. I sure enjoyed making them!

I’ll have a non-Christmas post on Friday. I’m sneaking in a wedding card. 🙂

Have a great week and I’ll see you on Friday…until then…Happy Stamping!

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

We have another sketch challenge for this week.

PPA 261 sketch

Here’s my version…love Blackberry Bliss and Soft Sky!

PPA 261.1

Sorry if it isn’t  super clear…it’s hard to focus with all that sparkle! 🙂

Here’s the inside.

PPA 261.2

This card measures 5 1/2″ x 6″.  The card is Blackberry Bliss with Soft Sky and Silver Glimmer Paper for the stars. Embossing was done with Silver Embossing Powder. The background “twinkling stars” was made using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and the sentiment on front from Over the Rainbow (new). I also smudged some powder to make a “milky way” look.

The trio of stars was made using the Stars Framelits Dies that are on sale this week in the Weekly Deals.

The inside sentiment is from Tin of Cards Stamp Set (new). The little stars were punched using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

This card was so much fun to make. Try to create a card of your own using this sketch. I’d love to see what you come up with.

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Joy Card

I promised I’d post the first of my Christmas Cards today so here I am at the last minute again.  I’m sure those of you who are preparing for the big feast tomorrow can understand that I got a little busy today with last minute things. After the silver was polished and table set I realized I didn’t have the matching napkins. Well, they must be in one of the MANY boxes in the garage that are STILL not unpacked. This is the Never Ending Move! Guess we’ll either be using paper napkins or some that sort of match!  🙂

I love this card and it was a big hit with my card classes. Hope you like it. I got the directions for the Tri-Shutter fold from Julie Davison.

Here is the front view as you would take it out of the envelope. That Joy just makes the star pop.

Christmas Joy #1

Here is the card starting to open up.

Christmas Joy #2

Here is the inside sentiment.

Christmas Joy #3

Last one is a close up of the inside. Check out how nicely the house tops match up with the bottoms.

Christmas Joy #4

Well, this is the first of four Christmas Cards (so far). Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for in our country.

Happy Eating and Stamping!  🙂

Add a little BLING!

Bling Val Card 1

I used Silver Glimmer paper, Silver Baker’s Twine (NEW) and rhinestones (I colored some of the rhinestones with a red Sharpie) to “bling” this card.

Bling Val Card 2

This flip card has the extra flap for more surprises…

Bling Val Card 3

Surprise!  This cute ‘I love you’ came from the Thinlits Label Card framelits.  Since this card was really made for a Pals Gallery card I only used one new product…Silver Baker’s Twine (132976) p. 24 of the Occasions catalog.  It also comes in gold!

Here’s what I used to create this card:

Stamp set:  Tags 4 You (131823)

Ink:  Real Red (126949)

Paper:  Real Red Cardstock (102482), Silver Glimmer Paper (124005), Whisper White Cardstock (100730), Pink Pirouette Cardstock (111351)

Accessories:  Silver Baker’s Twine (132976), Thinlits Circle Card (133480), Thinlits Label Card (133479), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246)

Check back for another card or 3-D item using new products.  🙂
