Petal Palette Birthday

Hello Stampers!  Today I’m using the Petal Palette Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog. It is available as a bundle and such a versatile bundle. You’ll be seeing it again in coming posts. You have until May 31st to order it.

I was inspired by a card done by Karen Hallman. I used the Petal Passion DSP as a background.  Just ordered another pack of that DSP!

Isn’t this little bird adorable! I popped him up with Dimensionals and I tilted the inside layer for fun. It’s a fun card.

This photo came out a bit darker which is more like the original.

This is really a pretty quick and easy card to make and can be sent to male or female.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Petal Palette Stamp Set, Rose Wonder

Ink – Old Olive, Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Whisper White, Old Olive, Petal Passion DSP

Accessories – Petals & More Thinlits

Actually different shots but liked them all so you got to see the card a few times. 🙂

Have a great week and Happy Stamping!    Donna

Medallion Birthday

Hello my dear Stampers!  Once again I must ask you to forgive me for missing a couple posts. I am having the WORST luck with my computer.  The keyboard had quit functioning once again. My husband was in the process of following the Costco Concierge on how to fix it and while it was doing it’s thing the manager he was speaking to had to leave since they were being evacuated in Ft. Meyers, FL. Until they return my computer is now totally dead. I decided I’d best try using my notebook so here goes.

Today’s card is simple and elegant and can be used for either male or female. I’m really loving Washi Tape and this card makes it happen.

See what I mean! I’m still using the retired Gold Glitter Washi Tape from last year (I bought a ton of it since I loved it so much!) I used the Eastern Medallions Thinlits – two together to get this design and the Washi Tape! That’s all! How easy is that! I decorated the envelope with one of the designs in the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set.

Just a simple Happy Birthday from the stamp set Rose Wonder and a bit more Washi and there you have it!

We did this card in my August class and the participants liked this design because it is so versatile.

If this works then I’ll be ready for my Friday post! Until then…Happy Stamping!    Donna

Sympathy in Watercolor Pencils

Happy New Year dear stampers!

Today I’m going to show you a sneak peek at a couple of the FREE Sale-A-Bration items and the new Watercolor Pencils. I’m sharing my first attempt at using these awesome pencils. They make water coloring so easy. I want you to see this first card and then on Friday I’ll share my second which I think is much better. It gets much easier and better with practice.

The flowers were done with the Avant-Garden set you can earn as a Free item with Sale-A-Bration.  The envelope and inside were done using another SAB item, Delicate Details.

I had no problems with the shading of the flowers but I do need to work on my background technique.

It is possible to get great depth and shading with the Watercolor Pencils.

There are four borders in the Delicate Details set and they are all lovely. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder set.

I’m so excited about these pencils. There are several You Tube tutorials on using watercolor pencils but nothing beats trying it yourself and practicing.

Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Avant-Garden (SAB), Delicate Details (SAB), Rose Wonder

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Razzleberry

Paper – Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Watercolor Paper

Accessories – Watercolor Pencils (Occasions), Melon Mambo Ribbon, Aqua Painters

You may have noticed that you can see the covers of the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration brochure but you can’t see the contents…that is because they don’t go “live” until January 4th. On Wednesday you will be able to visit and see both cover to cover. 🙂 But…you will no longer be able to see the Holiday Catalog. 😦

I’m very excited for you to see the new items. I found so many that I MUST have and already pre-ordered (only for demonstrators).

Until Friday when you will see my Swan Lake Watercolor take care and Happy Stamping!
