Celebrate You

Hello Stampers!  What a crazy weather week we’ve all had! The poor East Coast…getting hit again with snow storms and the West Coast is being pounded with rain (hooray…rain is always needed here on the West Coast). While we’re all staying close to home is a great time to design some cards.

We made this card in my last class and I think the fold will be used over and over again. I got this great idea from Dawn Griffith. It looks difficult to make but it really isn’t.

I decided we needed to use some of the Sale A Bration items so I chose Celebrate You Thinlits and Beautiful Peacock.  Keep in mind that Sale A Bration ends March 31st. It just so happens that the Celebrate You Thinlits will be carried over to the new Annual Catalog that will come out on June 1st.

This is the front…you can see there are endless ways to design this front piece.

I used the shadow affect with the black letters in back and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper in the front.

This is the surprise…two pockets – one for your sentiment and the other for a gift card. I love it! The best part is that this whole card is made from one sheet of 8 1/2″ x 11″.

Super gift card card…right!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – SAB Beautiful Peacock

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Black, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, Fresh Florals DSP, Lemon Lime Twist

Accessories – SAB Celebrate You Thinlits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Rather than try to explain how I did this card I’ll give you Dawn’s site since she does an awesome job explaining it. You will notice that my card is different in places…I didn’t use ribbon to close it, etc.

Do try this card out…it’s fun!

Happy Stamping until next Friday!     Donna

Get Well Thoughts Card

Hello Stampers! Today I have a Get Well Card for you. I send a lot of these during cold and flu season. They are great to have on hand because you never know when someone needs a cheery note to feel better.

I was inspired by Connie Stewart to make this card. It’s amazing how a little stamped texture and strips of a different color can spark up an otherwise flat looking card. For the background texture I used color on color (Marina Mist Ink on Marina Mist Cardstock).

The card base is Marina Mist with a bit of So Saffron and Very Vanilla for the sentiment. The front panel is actually folded over and the So Saffron is tucked under the folded flap. Then another piece of So Saffron is added along the edge.

Card Measurements:

Marina Mist – Base, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 1″ and 4 1/4″; scraps to punch out the flowers

So Saffron – 2″ x 5 1/2″ cut into two 1″ pieces

Very Vanilla – 2 1/2″ x 4″

Maybe you are wondering where I got the yellow rhinestones…I colored the clear rhinestones with a yellow Sharpie. I have a set of Sharpie colors to change up my rhinestones.

Those adorable little flowers are made from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. It is retired but if you’ve been using Stampin’ Up! products for a few years there’s a good chance you have this punch. If not, and you’d like the set…call or email me and I’ll see if I can still get you the set. Those Itty Bitty sets are so handy and I’ll never get rid of mine.

Stampin’ Up! Products Used:

Stamp Sets – Touches of Texture, Thoughts and Prayers

Ink – Crumb Cake, Marina Mist

Paper – Marina Mist, So Saffron, Very Vanilla

Accessories – Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Write Marker, Yellow Sharpie, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (R)

This card should cheer up someone who isn’t feeling well, don’t you think?

Stay healthy and Happy Stamping!

Lovely Valentine

Here’s another great design for Valentine’s Day. I was inspired by Juana Ambida.

I love that this card uses the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit from last year’s Occasions Catalog and was held over in the Annual Catalog. This is one great die set. You will also recognize that I used the Love Notes Framelits again.

Since you need to stamp the little hearts on the side AFTER you cut them…it’s a bit difficult to hit the middle of every heart (as you can see). Don’t know exactly what happened with the bottom three hearts! Maybe it was late and my vision was off. Ha,ha!

The inside…

Products Used:

Stamp Set – Sealed With Love

Ink – Real Red

Paper – Whisper White, Real Red, Sending Love DSP

Accessories – Layering Circles Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Have fun with all these great Framelits and Thinlits. They really add pizzazz to any card.

Hope you are enjoying these Valentine Cards – one more to come on Friday. Then I’ll need to create some Birthday cards for my February classes. We all need Birthday cards!

Just a reminder – I use my blog strictly to show my creations. If you want more information about sales, promotions, etc., then you need to be sure you are on my mailing list for my Crafty Cardmaker Weekly Newsletter. Christmas Star

Hello fellow stampers! I know…I missed posting on Friday. My computer was attacked and my poor husband worked on it from Friday until today saving, wiping it totally clean, starting over like a new computer and today organizing everything for me so that I could get back to work. What would I do without him! Hope I don’t have to find out.

I had to retake and edit all my photos so that’s why it’s a bit late but as promised…another Christmas card.  🙂

I CASE’d this one from Brandy Cox. Mine isn’t exactly like hers though. This is a nice clean card and doesn’t take too long to make. It would be a good one for you to make multiple copies of for your Christmas greeting.

Brandy used these colors but she had some retired Cherry Red Glimmer paper for the large star.

Here’s my inside sentiment.

I didn’t want to use just white, black and red so I changed it a bit…

As you can see I used traditional Christmas colors with some Silver Foil and Glimmer paper. I also added a large rhinestone to spark it up! You might also be able to see a tiny silver foil star under the rhinestone. Here’s the inside sentiment…

I love this bundle – Star of Light stamp set and Starlight Thinlits. This has been one of my “go to” bundles this season.

Here they are together…

The white, black, red and silver is very striking. Now I can’t decide which one I like best.

This year I’m making a variety of cards to send out. In years past I made 50 of one design. Changing it up this year!

Products Used:

Stamp Set – Star of Light

Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper – Whisper White, Black, Real Red, Emerald Envy, Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer

Accessories – Rhinestone Basic Jewels , Starlight Thinlits

Since this is a season of giving and sharing…why not share some of your creativity on my blog! Email photos of your masterpieces to me and I’ll be more than happy to post them here giving you full credit of course. 🙂

Until Friday (fingers crossed) Happy Stamping!

Valentine Screen Card

Valentine Screen 3

I love these screen cards so I decided to try one myself. I love how it turned out. We will make one of these in our January Classes. Couldn’t seem to decide on a DSP so I made my own with Daydream Medallions.  Note: I used a retired punch for the top border but the Scallop Edge Border Punch would work. (I don’t own that one…yet!)

Valentine Screen 2

I actually used the “love” portion of a stamp in the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set. It’s just perfect with Stampin’ Write Markers.

Valentine Screen 1

Here’s a close-up of the front panel.

Valentine Screen 4

The third panel with sentiment from the Hostess set Good Greetings “popped” up.
