Rudolph and Deck the Halls Tri-Fold Pocket Card

Hello Stampers! Today I have a GREAT fold card that I learned from Dawn Griffith. As I’m sure you’ve already noticed I do love different folded cards. This one will be a keeper for sure! Originally Dawn showed a square card but I decided that I could make it a regular A2 card by just adhering the square to a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ cardstock. I’ll show you both my designs.

First, I made the square card.

It just looks like a cute square card, right…

Open it up and you have a nifty little pocket for a greeting, letter, gift card or money. That black and Very Vanilla card comes out and you can add your greeting. The added touch made by the Card Front Builder Thinlits really adds to the seasonal theme.  (From the new Early Release of the Carols of Christmas Bundle.) I love it!

Knowing the post office is not fond of square envelopes I made this card.

I made another square card and adhered it to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I used the new Early Release stamp set Carols of Christmas.

Since we usually send a Christmas letter to all our distant friends we don’t get to see often I worked on folding the letter so that it would fit in the pocket. I’ll probably put another square on the opposite side of the pocket with my greeting. In this case in Very Vanilla.

Don’t be surprised if you see a few more cards designed incorporating this awesome fold. My September classes will be focused on Christmas and a few Hanukkah cards so we’ll be in the holiday mood. I make all my Christmas cards…a LOT of them so I change up the designs so I don’t get bored. Plus, I’m doing a Fall Craft Fair at our church and I’d like to make boxes of Christmas cards to sell. My studio will become Santa’s Card Shop!

Rather than my trying to explain the Tri-fold Pocket Card I’m going to give you the video done by Dawn Griffith. She does an outstanding job so why re-invent the wheel. 🙂

Peaceful Night

Hello Stampers!

As promised I have a Christmas card today using the Carols of Christmas Stamp Set and Card Front Builder Thinlits Bundle (available to you August 1st). The more I play around with this bundle the more I like it. The big bold sentiments are great for those who make a lot of Christmas cards because they almost fill the front of the card. I have a church craft fair coming up the last Sunday in October and I plan to make sets of Christmas cards to sell so I’ll be working on cards that can be mass produced!

For lack of a better name I call this my Triple Fold Out card. I know I got the inspiration from another but can’t remember where I saw this.

This gives you an idea of the three fold outs. See that great sentiment for the inside? It’s hard to tell but it is stamped on a rectangular Stitches Shape. I scalloped the front panel at the top using Seasonal Layers Framelits.

I used the Card Front Builder Thinlits to design the night sky, the trees and the deer. This set is FANTASTIC!  I just hand cut Whisper White Cardstock to form the snow drifts so the trees had perspective. I brushed a bit of Craft Stampin’ Ink in Whisper White on the trees for snow.

This is an easy fold and will make your cards really stand out. The base card measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″.  The Whisper White front panel measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ but I cut some off with the scallop die. I used scraps of Whisper White to hand cut the snow drifts. Then you decorate as you like.

I’ll have some more Christmas Cards using this wonderful bundle for you soon. Since we always send a letter in our cards I’m working on a way to enclose it without it just being in the card. Stay tuned!

Until my next post…Happy Stamping!
